I am one of those state workers that Sherrie Tussler from HTF says is failing Milwaukee as to getting food share benefits. Found that report so very discouraging. As someone who was on the phone on friday night from my home at 7 PM trying to make sure that someone from Milwaukee was getting their benefits, it just made me sad. There are those of us that are working from 7AM to 9PM to try to clean up a backlog that is not the states fault. We are not paid overtime. The state of WI did not create an economy that has led to twice the number of FoodShare applicants.Rather than continue to criticize the workers, and yes that is what she is doing;perhaps helping those that apply to have everything they need via FoodShare policy ( and that is Federal not state)it would help. HTF could be as vigialnt in helping the public to realize that we are not the enemy.We truly are trying to help. Commnents that intimate the state is failing the people serves to discourage those of us that are spending most of our waking hours,including weekends,to serve the people. FOX NEWS could go a long way by finding some of those people that have had their benfits confirmed minutes after they completed their application. There are many of them. Hang out at the Coggs Center and you might find some of them. Well another 10 hour day with no lunch or break. I will arise and serve the people tommorow, in spite of those that despise us.
