Jackson City Walk to spur downtown business boom

Is it just me or does anyone else wonder if this is a ripp off of Physicians Quality Care and Boomers Fitness Center? Look at the picture in the article. It even looks exactly like Dr. Hoppers building! How Lame!

Never thought that...this thing is like 86000 square feet or something. Looks nothing like the boomers thing to me....totally separate concept in my opinion. That said...I sure hope it works...

I love physicians quality care!!!! They are awesome!

oh, I do to. I have been there several times and have always been 100% satisfied......my opinion was just that I do not think the CityWalk project and included wellness center is not a ripp off of them.....

Physicians Quality Care aint the only one getting ripped off! Jackson is gonna get sued by Universal Studios over the name CityWalk. Universal consider's it a ripp off of the CityWalk attraction at their theme parks. Jackson Transit Authority has had "the LIFT" for years. These people dont seem to have an original thought in their head! Oh yeah RIFA got ripped off too. Forced to give their property away! I hope the bar down the street is happy!!!

I don't know about "citywalk" that is a something different, guess maybe thats shopping mall and entertainment complex maybe. But I know about Physicians Quality Care and Boomers Fitness. A medical clinic and a fitness center - together they are Jackson's only medically supervised fitness and wellness center. You say this new West TN Healthcare wellness center is a totally separate concept? How?

well, i must admit that i am not that eduated on exactly what Citywalk will contain, but it was my inital understanding that it was just a fitness center with a majority of the focus being on rehabilitaion and physical therepy. There will not be a medical clinic there like you descrbied at Physicians Quality....From my understanding (which I admit is limited) PQC is a medical walk in clinic with a gym attached.......Citywalk (again from my limited understanding) will be a physical therepy/rehabilitation center with a gym but will not be a walk in clinic like at PQC....the only common thread that I see is that they both have work out equipment, but I honestly do not see them competing for the same type client...I am sure most of PQC's business is from the clinic...I have never heard anyone who goes there just because of the gym....and I am sure that CityWalk will be the same---I do not see anyone going there just to go work out.....

I hope Crocker does well in this venture. He's to be commended for his attempts to revitalize downtown Jackson. What his company has done downtown already is amazing - blending the old with the new. Jackson needs more visionaries.

Its funny those who are connected to the project states ..it will be great for jackson. Those who aren't connected ... say it ain't gonna fly. Time will tell as with all things in jackson.

I'm not "connected" with this project. But I do hope that it does well.

Downtown is a terrible location. I hope the public's money isn't going into this boondogle.

Actually some public money is......... its just not being made public.

Anytime a new "project" comes up in this town people here are so quick to shoot things down. I think too many people are afraid of progress. By the way it will be much more than a medical/fitness area. It will have apartments and retail also. People talk about how downtown is a horrible location, well here is the first step in changing it. We have to start somewhere. When it's something that can benefit us the citizens of Jackson then I don't mind public money being used. Whether or not you use it or not is your choice, but it's good to know it's there if we need it.

What are you complaining about? You remind me of the children of Israel. If things were not being made better, you would complain about that. I love our downtown. I am sixty five yrs. old and I am happy that it still looks beautiful and not slum like. Whats your beef? You dont like improvements. Or are you getting like most Americans, cannot see the good in anything. Thats not working for us. God is not pleased. Because of your murmuring. it is getting worse. Try a little gratitude for those that are trying to do. Are you?

All this is public money and WTH. Crocker is making out like a bandit. Crocker, gist and mcmeen treat everyone's money like theirs and not the public. Ask the developer over the CRA district 2 if he is able to get things done at city hall as fast as mr Crocker. This city wants things to get built if the click is doing it. It is a shame we need a new mayor. Get us out of this crap. We can't even get sidewalks in Lana and, but we have this... We can't maintain what we have. Hello

I was approached by j p d to put up cameras at my business. Cost to me will be minimal. There goes the 4th amendment . Who will watch the watchers?

Universal studios did get in touch with the developers, and they have to change the name.

I think the only thing this will be a catalyst for is an increase in crime. Good grief what a lovely location. I know the thugs that can read are excited to see it open!

City Walk will give more East Jackson criminals victims to rob and kill. Downtown is dead.

Downtown is not east Jackson. Why do you people always have to crap on anything new? Other cities have revitalized their downtowns- and I applaude and support Jackson's effort to do the same. There's some cool stuff downtown with more to come. I think it's exciting. If they weren't trying to improve it, you'd be complaining, too. There's just no pleasing some people. If you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem.
