Cape County Cowboy Church

I was brought up in church during my younger years and I love our savior. I have finally found my church home Cape County Cowboy Church.I'll have to admit at first I was a bit uneasy. But after hearing the sermon of REv.Jim Matthews and listening to that wonderfuly talented musicians and vocalists,The Southern Brothers(mills family) and all of the other gifted christian singers etc.Open the Eyes of My heart Lord sent goose bumps down my arms.Bless this church and all the members please come experience the word you will not be dissapointed.

What if what you said is true?(which it is not completely true)
What if Jim would have thrown in the towel and quit the ministry at that point? There would be hundreds (maybe thousands) who didn't hear the Word of God preached. Maybe my husband wouldn't have excepted Christ as his Savior. Please stop posting stuff that could cause satan to gain some sort of foothold in a ministry that is all about saving the lives of people who don't know Jesus.
Whoever you are girl, please understand that the same Jesus who died for that sin also died for your sin of gossiping. God hates sin. Jesus hates sin. Christians don't think that they are better than anyone else. They are big sinners who are willing to admit their sin, turn to Jesus, know that Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice for their sin, and turn away from their sin.

His wife did get pregnant by someone else. It was a foreign exchange student and they placed that baby up for adoption. I think it just shows that God will help carry you through bad times and make the best of the situation. I really applaud both Jim and Debbie for making it through that. I love to hear Jim preach. He was the first preacher that I ever sat still and actually listened to when I was younger and I think it is awesome what he has done to share the message with others who would not normally go to a "regular" church!

What do you mean by,'regular' church? You make it sound as if other churces are wrong since they are not Cowboy church. I am not attacking you this is how I took it and yes I may have took it the wrong way.

What is wrong with a 'regualr' church and make people not want to attend one of them?

A regular church is one full of legalists who need God plus something else to make it "work" right.

I think that Angel is talking about regular churches that are unwilling to step out and reach the lost population that looks different, acts different, comes from a rough background, etc.

Church members at times feel more like a social club based on some sort of merit social system on who is better than who.

If you wore a cowboy hat and jeans into a "regular church", you may get asked to leave. Trust me it happens.

Not all churches are "regular churches". But churches sometimes get a bad name when they act legalistic and put tradition before the bible.

I beg to differ, about the dress codes of churches. I go to Cape First (across from the Mall) there are boys, girls, women and men of all ages that show up with (wranger) jeans, boots and cowboy hats and they are not asked to leave.

I think it was real slick how the church asked for money to put tward the church and once they got the money they went and bought a Nice New Ford Power Stroke. I really dont see how that truck could help out the church but then agian, I really dont think that was what the money was for in the first place. I think the took alot of people for ( the ride).

Jim use to be a preacher at Red Star Baptist and the chuch thought that it was a good idea on starting cowboy church and after he got it started with Red Stars money he left!!!

If any part of this is true, I am disgusted! A preacher & wife that cheat & won't take care of one of God's children and passes his wife's "trash" on for someone else to carry their burden. Sickening!

Tony you are very wrong. First it was not a new truck it was used. The pastor had nothing to do with it. The leadership team voted to buy it. Most churches of any size give the pastor a car allowance or furnish them with one. You need to engage your brain before you engage your mouth.
