This is in regards to the condition of the Indian Lake Middle School, I have done some research, this school is only 11 years old! the roof of the school is in terrible shape, in fact it has been that way since the school was built. I talked to my friend and their child today. With the light rain we had today it leaked into the 5th grade science lab classroom. The child said the counter is crooked, which means it is warped from the water damage. Will that be repaired? The walls are black, could that be from mold? PROBABLY. The child said they have put down paper towels to try and soak up the water. A couple of weeks ago the water poured out of cabinets, and ceiling tile has fallen down, The ceiling tiles are brown stained from all the damage.. Someone needs to step up and insist that the mold be removed and the insulation be replaced before someone gets sick. This cannot be covered up with new ceiling tiles and a coat of paint.

i to have heard the same thing from other students in the middle school there, someone needs to get this repaired and fast before someone gets deathly ill, or hurt from falling ceiling tiles.

Is the roof going to be replaced before there is more damage?

Probably not. It has been put off for 10 years or so. They do not seem to be in a hurry.

I talked to my friend a bit ago and their child came home saying that there were 3 buckets in the classroom today.
Totally ridiculous! Does the Hunstville or Lakeview school roof leak like that? |

From what I have heard (and recently seen), one rainfall and that will supply them with enough rain water to conduct science experiments for a couple of years.
Maybe they can sell the rain water to other schools to raise funds for necessary roof repairs. I think the Indian Lake BoE needs to hold their board meeting in a leaking room at the school the next time it rains. Maybe that will open their eyes. |

this has been going on for years, shouldn't the contractor have an obligation to come and fix this?
