My wife and I are seriously thinking about moving to either Cedar city OR St George some time early next year. We have an online business therefore job market is not a concern. However we are confused between the two cities, with both of us inching towards St George everyday due to warmer climate primarily.

Is that true there are too many old people in St George? It is not that we are "ageist" but considering that we are in late twenties we are wondering if we will be out of place in St George.

LOTS of outdoor activies like boating - hiking close by in both..... scenery great in both but if you like the green and mountain look go for Cedar - Desert open space is in St.G St.George:Try HOT and we rarely have spring or fall for very long - There ARE plenty of younger couples here and the Senior group for the most part are great people and very active. CONS - growing fast and severe economic impact that will last a lot longer than most areas - slower to happen SLOWERRRR to recover is the rule here and usually not as severe but the "promised land" false job and business over saturation has hit VERY hard this time - better shopping but Cedar is gaining there. Cedar: wet and cold winters GREAT long spring and fall and nice summers - if you are into NON-LDS type activities Cedar offers a bit better variety - |

Cedar City is one of the worst towns in Utah. Do not be fooled.

We moved to St George 7 years ago. We looked at both Cedar and St George and chose St George.
LDS are nice and friendly ,but not very social. They are family and church oriented and some moving here, have found it difficult to adjust. Over time, through activities ,we made friends and find this a great place to live. I find a nice mix of age and interest groups. Tuacahn, and local theater groups add a lot to the area,a few nice local restarants and many of the chains are available.Small Boutique stores and Sears,Pennys,Kohls,Chicos and many more stores available. Mesquite is 45 mins away and a few casinos with restaurants there. Las Vegas 2 hours and we all know, a bit of everything there. Weather info given above is pretty close. Would love to have a small cabin in the mountains around Cedar, for the hot summers, but love winters in St George. Use heat or air cond about 6 mos of the year. Don't need either for 5-6 months. Nice on the pocketbook. |

When you find a place in STG to live don't forget you are only 30 minutes from Mesquite! We have a new website that features all the events going on in the area.
www.the89027.com Check it out and enjoy all Mesquite has to offer |

I love my dentist, and she is in St.George Utah! Therefore I think St.George is better and so is Apple A Day Dental! http://www.appleadaydental.com
