I had a pizza from here recently. It was good, but I maintain that the other stuff I posted about above (The wrestler's sub, etc.) were terrible.

Pizza was excellent - probably the best we've had in Ithaca ever, but I agree with the above post that the other items (namely, the Indian spicy chicken masala pasta) were mediocre.

I worked at Ameritalia and they neglect their employees. I used to do everything for this place on a delivery driver's wage. I got $6/hr to sweep and mop most of the floors, change and take out most of the garbage, make most of the boxes, do most of the dishes, answer phones, work the counter helping customers, make food, and still do my deliveries. I made some tips, but those got to be next to nothing when college wasn't in session. After the owner told me that "even if you work here for 3 years, you will never get a raise," we had a falling out. Where is the incentive to try? After being their longer than almost anyone, doing more work than everyone, and always being a loyal employee, Hamid told me to leave and that I was never welcome back as an employee or a customer ever again. After I refused to leave without answers, he physically shoved me, picked up a chair, and charged me with it like he was going to bash me over the head.
Even if I wasn't allowed back, after this kind of treatment, I would never go back. This place has such a high turnover rate because they underpay employees. They treat you like their "brother" until they don't need you, and then you are nothing to them. As far as food quality, I think their food tastes alright, but they use some of the cheapest ingredients. Also, they basically copied their business plan from Sammy's. Although they are not affiliated, the pizzas featured there are stolen from Sammy's. |

When I worked at Ameritalia I made more money delivering pizzas then my dad did. I got fired cause I was a super douche bag that was disrespectful to customers and coworkers and am just an all around annoying person.
I'm pretty sure I was one of the highest paid people at Ameritalia and thus have no right to bitch. |

I would like to offer my apologies to all those whom I may have offended with my comments about Ameritalia above. My objections where founded mostly out of resentment over what I believed was a most abrupt and unfitting termination. I realize now that my comments were mostly unfair and totally inappropriate.
It was especially harsh of me to say that Ameritalia stole their pizza and business plan from Sammy's. This has been an ugly rumor that is not true and was only alluded to because I was very angry. I turned to the internet to vent because I felt totally unheard. That being said, I do feel entitled to my opinion. It was not my intent to "lie" but instead to depict a sole opinion. I always talked highly of Ameritalia because I believed in what they stood for and felt obliged to be loyal to my friends at Ameritalia. I still stand behind my prior praises of Ameritalia for their great food, low prices, and great service. Most of my opinions were founded in anger and spite from my disbelief of what had just happened. In fact, part of my anger stemmed from my banishment from Ameritalia which now prevents me from enjoying their food and low prices. I still feel a bit confused by the way the situation was handled. I also feel deep remorse for the way things were left between Hamid and myself. Looking back on it, I believe that neither party involved wanted to hurt each other. Unfortunately, the situation got largely out of hand and what was done by both parties can never be changed. Still, it is my hope that someday we will all look back on this and laugh. Nobody wants to go through life holding vendettas against others. At least, I know I don't. I would much rather forgive and forget. |
