In planning for the 4th of July we thought about where Town Residents can go to see the fireworks. For those interested we will be closing Irving Avenue at 8:00 p.m. from the 200 block (end of the parking meters) to the 400 block. It will remain closed until the fireworks are over. You can come in your golf cart or bring a lawn chair to view the fireworks from that area. This will allow residents to avoid the crowds at the boardwalk if you like.

These are the only blocks that it seems that the view will be good.

I think this is a good idea. Do the residents in those blocks know?

We are going to get the message out. The actual location will be between the Cannon and the end of the metered parking which is Madison, can't go any further because there is no view through the trees. This way you can see the show well and there is very few homes there. I got turned around in the first message as to the number of the blocks, sorry. I will personally get with each home owner in that area in the a.m. We will have an officer present to ensure it remains free from traffic flow. This is the first time we are trying this so call me with any concerns. Residents remember we are starting paid parking this year at 6:00 a.m. and Garfield will be closed at Boundary again.

How will non-residents be kept out? And how will residents prove they are residents? We don't always carry ID when on foot but will if need be.
Anything to avoid the unwashed masses!

Thanks Chief

Silly citizens, fireworks are for tourists. Do you really think the city displays fireworks to enhance the live of the people who live in this (or any)town? They do it to bring tourist and their money - nothing more.

Daily Horoscope for December 8

Leo

If you're worried about running up big debts in what is usually one of the most expensive months of the year, start keeping a running total of how much money you've spent so far. You might have to restrict the amount you spend on Christmas presents, or make other savings in order to stay within your budget, but you realize the folly of ending up severely out of pocket.
