Old Grump I couldn't agree with you any more. The town has really never changed. The same types of things are going on that have been their for years. IP was always know for the problems. Teddy did a GREAT job with what he had to work with. AS far as him not doing anything unless it was a speeding ticket or stop sign or something hanging from the rear view that is BS. If you needed anything Teddy would do it. I remember calling him because my family was going out of town to have him drive by the house for us. He would call and tell us if anything was not normal and we would send some one to check it out. that is above the call of duty. I also know Tom well and he is a good man give him a chance and he will correct the BS as well until the Dexters run him out as well.

Mr Tardiff was elected constable , he does not have the same free rein that Mr Miller had. He is constable , not traffic cop . The town changed the way law enforcement is handled in IP. Two other Gentlemen are driving a Marked Car and actively doing patrols. I saw the marked white Chevy around town doing patrols. Things are under control. Mr Tardiff will not be doing all the things Mr Miller did and the town made that decision. Island Pond has a police chief. His Name is Thomas Hanlon and I have been told he is a very good man. Mr Tardiff is also a good man , but his duties are limited. Most folks in IP that I talked to are pleased with the way the current law enforcement is set up

so Johnson You do not live or ever lived in IP but you are an Expert on the town. First of all why in the world is the town paying for a police officer Tardiff that can't pass the test to do his job for what he was hired for???? I think that is a waste of money don't you??? But then again maybe the out of towners are paying them as Dexter clan has the money to do so.

I only know that I was told the position of constable was decidedly changed . This position has limited duties . Tom Hanlon is the police chief. He drives a white Chevy and it is clearly marked. I saw him parked at the intersection as well as driving around town. People can disagree all they want , but Tom Hanlon is the Police chief. I am in my late 80s . I used to live in Island pond as a young man. I grew up in Island Pond . Collectively I lived in Island Pond for 65 years . My wife and daughter are buried there.

People can disagree all they want to ,but if you fail to stop at the intersection and get a ticket , it is likely Tom Hanlon would be the one to write it. Tom Hanlon is the Police chief in Island Pond. I saw Tom Hanlon parked near the intersection a few times in, his well marked , White Chevy. The biggest change is Ted Miller is not in Island Pond any longer . Regardless of approval or disapproval , Ted Miller has left IP .

Yes, the new elected constable is doing what he is supposed to do. He is not taking it upon himself to bother residents and tourists with a power kick. Business has never been better. Bless the voters and bless the new sensible law enforcement in Island Pond. Mabe

Things here are going just fine these days. Once again we are starting to see people coming back to IP and business picking up. That is all that a lot of us in IP where hoping for.

In the past Ted Miller was constable. He was it. Then Ted Miller was voted out and Mr Tardiff was elected as constable. Mr Tardiff does not have all the training that Mr Miller had. Mr Tardiff's duties are limited and will remain so. The town decided to set up a real police department. Mr Hanlon has extensive police training and experience. Mr Hanlon was appointed the Brighton Police Chief . There is also one other Officer . These are real facts. People can deny it if they chose to. But Mr Hanlon is the Chief Of Police for the town. I do not know Mr Hanlon , but all the people I spoke to have said he is a very good man.
