I would suggest that if you need venison or want to get out and hunt go to one of the high fenced preserves. That would take the pressure off of the native deer, but no wait I see our great state has decided that they no longer need this business to bring money into our rural economy and may shut them down. Another great idea for our business friendly state.

I would suggest that if you want the deer herd to expand to the huntable amount again , you not have a deer season for at least 2 yrs. You have had 2 severe winters in a row and that alone has depleted the herd. And of cours thta is going to tick off lots of folks but that is what it may take to get it back up.
Or have a couple of 3 day hunts with limits of 1 deer per hunter. If the hunter gets a deer in one hunt he is not elegible for the other hunt. I have hunted up there for several years for birds and the lack of deer sign is very disappointing. For the amount of land there , you should be seeing deer almost everywhere but instead you see VERY VERY FEW if any and almost NO sign at all. |
