Woman tells 911 boyfriend shot her

Why didn't the M'burg Fire/EMS fly the victim to a trauma center? Why take them by Basic Life Squad to Urbana? Why didn't thier Basic squad ask for a Paramedic intercept of some sort? Or is everyone in M'burg okay with not getting the treatment they deserve, and pay for through levy's? Just my 2 cents worth. I pray the victim and thier family's are ok with mediocre service.

Did you listen to her 911 call? She's reporting she's been shot in the stomach and leg, begging for help, and the dispatcher is asking her to spell her name, practically harrassing her because he can't understand the name "Dakota Jones" she's repeatedly answering for him. Too bad Angie had too much class to tell him "I'm laying in the road, jacka$$"

A gunshot wound, no matter what, should be flown to a trauma center, not taken to a hospital to be flown later. Mechanicsburg EMS dropped the ball...again. Dispatch dropped the ball and should have put a chopper on standby. I do not know Angie, but she deserves to get the most excellent care possible. All of the Mechanicsburg area deserves better than they are getting with thier Fire/EMS dept.

The people of Mechanicsburg are very lucky to have an outstanding fire and EMS department. Let us remember that this is a volunteer department. If we did not have them we would be looking at getting services from 10 miles away. What would the outcome have been then?? Obviously, the choice of treatment was appropriate and Angie is recovering. Thankfully, she had much higher powers watching over her that night.
I have witnesses first hand some amazing work that the EMS has done and I am very thankful that we have them here. "Red HEad" next time your in the Burg and you need immediate mediical care...should we contact Urbana or someone else in the surrounding area? Think about it!!

YUP serious as a heart attack, which if it happens to me or my family while visiting the m'burg, Please call for mutual aid, as I wouldn't want any of them working on me. First hand witnessing huh... BURG girl and proud, wouldn't be know as MOLDY in other circles would ya??

Why would unit 9 turn down UFD ems and tell their truck to run 27 back????

Well we have lost a number of young adults in Mechanicsburg due to some sort of problem with our EMS a couple of years ago a young mother was killed when the truck she was driving crashed on parkview road, she was still alive after the crash until the truck caught fire i was told the EMS were there and watched it happen (this is hearsay but given their record????)... A few years before that a young man in his twenties was shot and they made he get on the stretcher HIMSELF laying on his stomach then told him to turn around and lay on his BACK! I don't know what the exact procedures are but this doesn't seem right to me! B.T.W. he was also taken by ambulance to the "band-aid" hospital in urbana before he was flown to a better hospital.

Interesting news flash here, seems as if the Assistant EMS Chief was arrested for public intox, or drunk and disorderly, or whatever, walking between the fire house and the bar next door. This is Public record, look it up, but I still hear her on the scanner. another EMT,(the fire chiefs daughter was allegedly picked up for OMVI, but was reduced or something to reckless op. But she is still on the deptartment also.(more public record) So lets think about this M'burg, is this who you want working on you?

Apparently, the chief has some explaining to do. Anyone know why he was put on suspension last night?

I think you should all be very carefull in M'burg for a while sounds like things are changing and not the time to need Fire/EMS help. Be careful, you are all in my prayers.

"Somewhere out there" from Urbana needs to get a grip. I am disgusted that you feel your last post was appropriate. I am nearly 100% certin that you were on neither of those runs. EMS training or not, you have no frame of reference. Let us know when you care enough about your community to give a tiny bit of what those people do. Oh, and after you witness those things firsthand, let us know how you are sleeping at night.

well somewhere out there if u was there why didnt u do anything? i was there 1st hand and seen everything and u dont know what the hell u r talking about so i would suggest if u r going to run your mouth about something u better know what the hell u r talking about!!!!! its funny that everyone can sit on here and talk about something that they dont even know the facts because if u did u would know that the police was the first ones on the scene and could have put the fire out but they didnt have a fire extinguisher in there cars like they are suppose too.. even the cop on duty that night said that they are suppose to have them in there cars that they could've put it out when they got there.. so know what u are talking about before u start talking about something that u think u know everything about....

i was there when the shooting victim had to get on the stretcher himself!!! I would have done something if I had known you didn't know what the heck you were doing!!

Well, somewhere out there, if you were there for both of those like you say, were you on Fire, EMS or PD? If you don't reply, then we can all assume that you are full of crap.
