I think that with the recent problems with the budget, we really need to think hard about who we vote for this year. I just looked over the adopted budget for 09-10 and it basically just doesn't add up. It makes the county look like it's flipping the bill for everything. What about the grants, compensations, and state funds that some of the orginazations such as the sheriff's office, fire and rescue, and corrections get? Why is this information not highlighted in a positive way. What about the money that the county gets for outside sources using our land fill? Why don't we have a better break down of what each county office gets paid like other counties do? It is public record but Gloucester and Mathews publish this information in their local papers.
