I hope that this woman gets some kind of justice! As a mother, I breastfed my daughter back in the early 80's and never had any problem-anywhere! After all, aren't we as women made so perfectly to breastfeed our children? I always say God didn't miss a thing when we were created. What is more practical than this! It is what we are suppose to do. Sad to say, in our society it is more bottle-fed babies than ever. Because it is "easier" for the mother. There is nothing more easier than breastfeeding a child. No bottles, no formula to buy, perfect bonding, great immune enhancer...This woman should of never been treated like this and shame on that airline attendant and the airlines. I hope she has been fired!!! I cheer this Mom on and support her 100 percent. Looking forward to the outcome!!!

I would like both of you to know, that I too am currently suing for much the same reasons. They kicked my mother and I off of our flight from LA to Tokyo when I began brestfeeding to reduce pressure in my ears.

So a woman could be prohibited from breatfeeding her child and sue, or she could breast-feed her child and sue for sexual harassment if somebody watched.

Women have to realize they can't have it both ways.

I breastfed both my children - many times in public. I guess I don't understand why this mother refused to cover up. While it seems the flight attendant could have been a bit more diplomatic, this is a completely frivolous lawsuit.

You've GOT to be kidding! As a flight attendant and former nursing mother myself, I will never hassle any mother about breastfeeding her little one. But if I read this right, YOU, as an adult writing this post, were kicked off a flight because you were nursing to relieve pressure in your ears!!! Chew gum, for pete's sake. I'd have given you the boot as well!

Personally I think this is absolutly ridiculous. First of all, this lady waited like what 3 years to sue (that kind hints at her just wanting the money)and second of all, there is a thing called indecent exposure that is WHY she got thrown off the plane, if she would have covered herself she wouldnt have gotten thrown off, simple as that. So basically she got thrown off for the same reason if another woman were to walk around wither no shirt on. She didnt get thrown off for breatfeeding her child, she got thrown off for whipping her boob out in front of like what 50-100 people. If that were my plane and she wouldn't cover herself, I would have thrown her off no problem. so basically shes an idiot and i really hope she loses the case. people like that are just gold diggers, plain and simple.

This might be a silly question. What is the accepted length of time for breast feeding? I always thought that once jr gets teeth and draws blood then it's time for a cup. Cultural differences may factor in like in the Grapes of Wrath etc. I say that if mom is wearing a bra, long underwear, wool sweater and a parka, well I would think that would mean the game is over. However, if mom is in say the Canary Islands, then the game could go into overtime.

Aim for 12 months, but it's reasonable to stop at 9 or 10 months. When they can walk up to you, lift your shirt and verbally demand to breastfeed, it's time to stop.

Umm - maybe it was because you were old enough to read, write and post to the forum ???? This sounds like something off the HBO show Little Britain,USA where the relatives show up and start breastfeeding the son who appears to be about 21 or so.

**********
As far as the woman breastfeeding an infant - no one had to look if it offended them. Since liquids were severely restricted on planes back then - what was the kid supposed to do starve? Of course she could have just let the baby scream the whole way - that would have made for a great flight for all concerned.

Amazing that a culture that lets their children play video games where they mutilate others is offended when a woman breastfeeds an infant.

Daily Horoscope for January 8

Sagittarius

You'll feel friendly with everyone you meet today, and you might even be lucky financially. Money should be coming in, but going out rather fast as well... Astral influences will keep you on your toes, and will probably make you flirtatious, but they could also make you moody. This makes it tricky for close relationships to run on an even keel. The truth is, perhaps you don't want too much closeness at the moment. Your partner probably knows that you're often like this, by now, anyway.
