Just shutthefuckup if you don't know what you're talking about. Your noise disrupts the discussion. After you learn about the decline of our education system coincident with the increased cost, and after you learn about how wealth is distributed in various countries, and after you learn about the associated factors involved in distribution of wealth, then please come back and contribute to the discussion. In the mean time, learn from this ageless expression: "Nobody ever learned anything through their mouth." I guess you missed this one: "how about providing some sort of evidence or a source that would support such a blanket idiotic statement" Aren't you the same guy who keeps harping on others about the 'lack of content'?!

In addition, there are also fewer jobs in Michigan (Jan '12) than in Jan '09 when Obama took office. Look at this link if you don't believe me. http://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LASST26000003

Per the chart on the Bureau of Labor Statistics site, there were 4,353,547 jobs in Michigan in Jan '09 and there were 4,269,890 jobs in Michigan in Apr '12. That's 83,657 fewer jobs during Obama's presidency.
Who has the aversion to the truth now?

Despite the false Hyperbole from the Lame-Stream-Media, G.W. did a fine job as POTUS, America was working! Despite the terrorist attack of 9/11 we struggled on…no excuses, and NO BLAME GAME. Since Democrats took the Anti-War sentiment as a referendum on Bush as a referendum on Republicans and patriotism and Christianity they sent this country into a downward spiral! Yes Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac facilitated the economic collapse…and yes those were Democratic initiatives. The POTUS who began the process…William Jefferson Clinton, with assistance from the Congressional Black Caucus. Home ownership among minorities did rise because of that legislative push; that was good for America! Predatory lending by loaning 11o% of the real value of those properties caused the collapse, that was BAD FOR AMERICA! Jobs :http://data.bls.gov/timeserie s/LNS14000000 Housing: http://www.ftc.gov/be/v010004.shtm G.W. did play along…but he did not start the game! And should not take the BLAME!

How about you get off your lazy ass and look up someting that has been thuroughly researched by the rest of us, you ignorant buffoon. Let's start with your Democrats in government today saying our education system is a failure: http://www.highereducation.org/reports/pa_dec... Now, let's find out when it changed from the best in the world to the worst in the industrialized world: Here's one from Chicago talking about the seriousness of the decline prior to 1980, you f**king moron: "From the mid 1960s to about 1980 virtually all measures of school performance deteriorated significantly." (The scope of the research was up to 1980, thus the period of continual decline after 1980 - and continuing to this very day - was not included) The article was published in 1992, twenty f**king years ago, you ignorant dupe. That should get you started. All you have to do now is actually be interested enough to learn. Perhaps you didn't understand the English translation of: How about you get off your lazy goddam Democrat ass and actually learn something about what comes out of your ignorant mouth.

So you found one example and, I'm sure, there are many more -- but there are far more examples of excellent public school districts across the country. If you want to bitch and moan about education in this country go talk to your wingnuz ilk restricting thousands of foreign, US educated, engineers from being able to stay here to fill the gap for badly needed engineers. Close to 75% of Engineering students in our Colleges are foreign and unable to obtain working visas because of GOPer xenophobia and sheer idiocy!

So, you still haven't gotten off your lazy Democrat ass and looked into this. You are correct. If you got off your lazy, useless Democrat ass and looked into it yourself, you'll find HUNDREDS of references about our declining education system.... help yourself. But, you have to get off your lazy Democrat ass and do it yourself to find them. It's just a couple of clicks away from you. Most engineering students here are foreign. What's worse, it gets even worse when you look at who is getting the advanced degrees in science and engineering here. Soon, we will not be educating Americans to be engineers. We are already discriminating against American engineers in our graduate schools. There's nothing wrong with allowing foreign students to study here. There's a lot wrong with replacing Americans with them. Why aren't we educating American engineers like that? That's what's wrong. How do you fix that? You have to have an education system that actually qualifies students to study science and engineering when they complete high school. Until about 40 years ago, we were the best in the world at that. Today, we're the worst in the industrialized world at that. It's time to stop rewarding poor achievement. If you stop awarding poor achievement, you'll have far fewer underachievers. Now, back to the topic you disagree with before you agree with: Our education system has been on a 40+ year decline without a single year of improvement. Our education system has been changed from the finest in the world to the most expensive in the world that generates the most ignorant workforce in the industrialized world. More money is not the answer. We already have the most expensive education system in the world.
