Measure A not only changes the zoning, it approves an 800,000 square foot project without even knowing what that project will be. This is the opposite of planning. THis is giving the developer a free hand to do what they want and choose their own conditions of approval.

Our choice is between approving the developers plan, written and paid for by them, or voting NO to make them go through the public process that is designed to protect the public interest. That is pretty clear to me. Vote NO on A. Its a bad idea.

Isn't voting making the project more public than if only the planning department decides?
I didn't vote for John Mc Cowen. Doesn't my opinion in county matters still count for something?
Let the people decide. Can't wait for the results next week.

If we were voting on simply changing the zoning it would be one thing, but we're voting on whether to change the zoning *and* implement DDRs 300+ page plan which includes stuff like this:
"Design review: None required" (page 4)

Thanks but no thanks. I'm voting NO on A to preserve local control over local development.

Right, they show the glossy photos of how nice it will all look, but one thing they are clear on is "no design review." And by bypassing CEQA and the environmental review process, they are also making sure there will be no conditions of approval.

DDR knows what they are doing. In their 300 page plan, in the Project Summary they say "All uses, site plans and descriptions, contained herein are conceptual and do not reflect what may actually be built." If Measure A passes, those decisions will be left up to DDR, not us.

Like I said, DDR knows what they are doing. Do we? Don't be fooled.

The latest dirty trick, or lie, is to send out one more mailer that is designed to mimic the NO on A signs. They are using the same color, the same graphic layout and the same swoosh, as an underscore.

They claim to be the "HOME TEAM." What a pathetic joke if it weren't so serious. I don't think we can trust a corporation that is spending a million dollars to trick us into voting for a plan they wrote for themselves.

NO on Measure A. Its a bad idea.

Time to show DDR the door. They are not ethical. It would be a huge mistake to turn the planning process over to them without the normal environmental review and trust them to do the right thing.

I challenge anyone who believes this individual's propaganda and scare tactics to review the information at www.mendocinocrossings.com and www.VoteYesOnMeasureA.com

I'm sure most reasonable and intelligent people will see that a Yes Vote on Measure A is good for Mendocino County, including all of the incorporated cities.

Don't be fooled by SOLE and their selfish anti-growth agenda.

This sums up one of the most important reasons why I am voting NO. It would be very foolish to bypass the environmental review process and give almost total control to the developer.
