hyla vacuum cleaners

i've been the owner of a home based house cleaning service for over 20 years. i've seen a lot of fly by night vacuum cleaner marketers over the years. a customer of mine recently purchased a HYLA vacuum cleaner thru a telemarketing group t and t cleaning systems who recently flew into the sedalia area. it is supposed act as an air filtration system as well to also filter the air in your home. it is a water bath type machine that is supposed to filter the dirt thru the water much like the rainbow vacuum cleaner. she paid well over $2000 dollars for it and it doesn't seem to work any better than the electolux shes owned for over 10 years. there is as much or more dust on her furniture now as there was before. another customer of mine had one demonstrated to her last week and when she said she wasn't interested the price eventually dropped from over $2000 to $1600 and was still dropping as she closed the door on the salesman on his way out the door. still way overpriced for a vacuum. they sell on ebay new in the box with a warranty for $899 and less. anyone else had any experiences with this product or the marketing company t and t cleaning systems? if they are willing to sell it for less than $1600 to one customer isn't it unethical to have gouged someone else over $400 for the exact same product?

I would like to return my Hyla!!! I have onset corpultunal and its very painful.I got a used one and i'm paying w/int. 3.000.00 not all that. My hour are cut a work and i can not afford it.What a scam.

How can i return this overpriced machine that i can hardly fill or dump.

Rainbows and Hylas are overpriced, but they do work better than a regular vac, at least Rainbow does. I'm assuming Hyla Works like Rainbow.

My Rainbow is five years old and the Hepa filter on it is still white on both sides and smells new.

You have to actually USE the machine properly and clean everything with it from top to bottom before you start noticing less dust. It's a pain but after a few good cleanings you will definitely notice. Change the water often too.

For anyone that wants one. Research online and find someone REPUTABLE that rebuilds them and provides their OWN warranty. For example: I see a MINT Hyla on Ebay for 500 dollars for sale.

Yes, you're not buying from the manufacturer and you don't get the manufacturer warranty, but if someone does NOTHING but take apart, clean, rebuild, resell a lot of these, they must know what they're doing to have such great feedback.

If I had it to do over again, I would get a nice Rainbow or Hyla rebuilt or refurbished.

In October of 2010 my husband and I had a Hyla demonstated in our home. We decided to buy it. So the sales gal left it and proceeded to take my old Kirby as part of the gimmic. The next day after thinking it over, we decided to cancel the sale. It took them over a month to get back and pick up their machine. I never saw my Kirby again. She didn't bring it with when she picked up their Hyla. I still don't have it back and you wouldn't believe the runaround I have been getting. One day they sent a new salesman out here with an old piece of junk. This poor kid felt like an idiot as he didn't have a clue as to what had been going on. After another phone call this afternoon, I was told to call back in the morning as the supervisor wasn't in the office today. Just some more of their runaround. Since the first of October and it's now the end of March.

I bought a Hyla and have not been pleased with it at all! When I called to discuss this, I got the brush off for several weeks, then finally I caught the owner and discussed it with him. He went on to tell me there was nothing they could do because there is a 3 DAY return policy! 3 days? Really? On something that cost me over $2500? In the end he offered me other items for the Hyla free of charge (still was not happy but hey I got free stuff) then I get the items and guess what... they won't work with my Hyla lol!!! IMAGINE THAT!!! I have never had so much trouble with a company in my life! I highly recommend any persons interested in them PLEASE stay away from them.

I got my wife a pro aqua and it works great. Terribly overpriced though. I will never spend 2600 on a vacuum again.

We just went through the vacuum cleaner sales pitch. I will say that our sales man out of Bolivar, MO was great. He is exactly what a salesman should be. But we just had a hard time handing over that much money for a vacuum. When he explained the payment plans A,B,C and the 20% interest, red flags went up. Granted the machine was awesome, I just can't see paying $2400 for a vacuum. I can say, when we showed him that we could get one on e-bay for only 300, the price did drop. But still it was only by 250.00. So, needless to say, we didn't purchase a Hyla. Before he left, he did offer to sale us a used repo model he had in the trunk for $600. Still, that is more that what we are willing to pay for a vacuum. It may be the best out there, it may suck up all the dead skin eatin' dust mites, but I still have my money in my pocket.

I just bought a Hyla for $300 on ebay but just got it today so haven't tried this one out yet. HOWEVER, a good friend of mine loaned me her Hyla twice and I was amazed at what this machine can do. If you have any pets, I highly recommend someone to at least try out a Hyla (but I would not fork over what a new one would cost). You can find rebuilt ones on Ebay or from other reputable sellers online. You can spend $200-400 on some other brands and I doubt that they'd beat the cleaning ability of a Hyla because the water system prevents dust from going back into the air. Also, with 2 cats in the house, you can't imagine the amount of hair that this vacuum picked up which my old upright vacuum always missed. To me, the Hyla is very comparable to a Rainbow. The last Kirby I used was extremely heavy and hard to manage. I wasn't too impressed w/it although some swear by it. To the poster who didn't get the right parts for hers, find someone who works on vacuums for a living & I bet they can find the right part for the vacuum. I'd try that before just writing the whole thing off as a bad investment. I think Hyla's are worth a bit more money but not at new retail prices. Most cannot afford those kinds of price tags.

If they come to your door don't answer they will act like there doing a quick survey but they are setting you up they say you have won a free gift but every one gets the same thing they are selling used machines they are not new the sales people in Bryant AR are scamming don't fall for it

I don't care what those who leave bad remarks about HYLA say. I use my HYLA for almost 2 years now and absolutely love it. Paid over 2000 bucks but after seing the benefits I have to admit that it was worth to spend so much money. I also use it to clean the air which is also a benefit that can not be done with a Vacuum Cleaner. First I thought that the remote control is a gimmick but I also love it in the meanwhile.

I had a sales pitch many many years ago and I think at the time it was called the Green Frog or something like that. For anyone to pay that type of money for a vacuum, oyu would need to be an idiot. There is nothing this vacuum can do that another vacuum for less then half the price (DYSON) can't do. Do not get suckered. We almost got suckered for cookware costing $10K, when one can get good cookware for $5-600 at a local store. This is the gimick of the Direct Sellers and Marketers. STAY AWAY FROM IN HOME SALES OR DIRECT SALES..

I started working for Hyla 4-18-12 I seen the aid in the paper it said $12-$15.00 for 2nd shift. k so I called n the next day went n seen the owner Josh about the job... He never told me that I wasnt going to get paid for traning. so i have worked there 5 days n hasnt been paid a dime... All I have done is wasted gas n time so on monday im returning my hyla things n quiting.... So if anyone try to get a job there dont its not worth it... NO MONEY... U have to get 12 demos 72 reffs. n 50 door to door sell so its just not WORTH IT...

The average sale price is 2200.00 and when you look at it over the 30 years it last that's under 100.00 a year. My grandma had a rainbow for 36 years and the hyla has a better design and overall build from what I can tell so I would pit it to that 30 year test. Plus with no filters its better than rainbow in my opinion. Also I made the salesmen wait while I compared the price and I figured a new vacuum every 2 years at around 200.00 was 3000 for 30 yrs not counting my filters carpet sprays floor cleaner air freshners etc... plus the humidifier/dehumidifier was at least 500.00 value... I agree its a big price but you do save in the long run...I suggest offering cash at around 2200.00 you can avoid intrest and still have the warranty from dealer. EBay wouldn't have a warranty like that just giving my opinion a great product and worth it if you break it down. Anyone who has one mix hot water and dish soap throw it on tile and hardwood works better than pinesol...
