Interesting how a church (cult) based on a polyamist pedophiles musings from God would have any credibility whatsoever on this topic while still supporting his likenesses in their midst.

I don't give a damn if those Mormons believe in whatever cultish doctrine they choose or if they wear underwear with religious writings on it or whatever. I DO care that they interjected themselves into a political VOTE in another state! Could you imagine if the Pope directed all American Catholics to pour money into a particular politician's campaign, or fund a political referendum like this one in California? It's outrageous.

The Mormon church should have its tax exempt status pulled. A religious group is not allowed to get involved in politics like this. The Mormon Church crossed the line, and they should lose their federal tax exempt status as a result. Period.

I agree, too, Spector. This is a clear legal violation of their religious based tax exempt status.

Pass a proposition outlawing the Mormon Church in California due to the cult and political nature of it's being - tit for tat. Start the petition drive. That alone will have an effect.

Mormons are only 1.3% of the U.S. population, less than gays. So why should they have more political clout?

LindaS said "Mormons are only 1.3% of the U.S. population, less than gays. So why should they have more political clout? "

The mormons are all required to turn over 10 % of their gross income to the church. This Church is a mega billion dollar financial political empire with absolutely no accountability. The Doctrine of the Church teaches of a theocracy to replace the United States Government. This theocracy once established will then resume blood atonement, and polygamy, two important parts of this patriarchal authoritarian church. The members are taught to lie to protect the church and will use really sneaky debate tactics to undermine the credibility of any who seek to expose the danger of this group. They are dangerous!
This church has already put a disproportionate number of members in strategic positions of power in the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, and of course their prophet already has dictorial powers in Utah. All of this can be verified on the internet and other sources. You will have to wade through an incredible amount of information generated by the church but after awhile their "scholars" are really easy to spot.
The thing that is really troublesome currently is their efforts to subvert the constitution with their intense efforts to attack the minority group of gay citizens. If they succeed in this it is just a matter of time before they achieve their agenda of wacky theocracy.

We all need to get informed and get involved in helping everyone to recognize the real danger of the false patriarchal religious military industrial complex.

Apathy is a valuable tool of those who would sabotage democracy!

Wait, I'm confused. Is it the mormon church or the gays who are tyring to circumvent democracy?

California voted for a constitutional amendement and since it didn't go the gays' way they are saying it isn't democratic?? What??

So if they made it constitutionally illegal to be a Christian, are you okay with that then, as long as it was voted on democratically?

If the democratic vote was accepted as legitimate blacks would still have no rights, women could not own property and nobody of different cultural backgrounds could get married. One of the two primary reasons for the existence of the justice system is to balance the legislative and executive branches of government and to make sure that democracy is only allowed to be majority take all if it doesn't wrongly oppress the minority in doing so. Unfortunately bigotry and religious hatred has been the cause of many civil rights denials in the history of the US and in each case it required the courts to initiate, finalize or unify the correction of that.

Loving vs. Virginia was 1967. The democratic process only finally removed the antimiscegenation clause of the Alabama CONSTITUTION in 2000. Sometimes "democracy" takes way to long to get it right.

This is the 21st Century and homosexual acts are no more right than they were 100, 200, 6000 years ago. Why don't you get the message and change your ways? Is 6 billion people telling you that you are wrong not enough for you?

Obviously this battle will never end b/c homosexuals are too addicted to the lifestyle to let it go.

Sure, the equal rights thing is kind of convincing, but still, there is not equal burden of responsibility there so how can there be equal rights?

Apparently you are very naive if you think the Catholic church has never been involved in politics. Have you read Catholic history by any chance?

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Aquarius

Unfortunately it won't take much to get your wires crossed, especially if you're trying to keep track of your Christmas preparations. It's hard to work out what still needs to be done. A member of the family is away with the fairies or is being completely fanciful. It's a pest because that sort of behavior can make you feel anxious and harassed.
