I agree. I don't mind that the U.S. is helping other countries with our aid. But need we not forget the native american people of this country. My people the sioux lakota are a proud people. But we should not turn our backs on our brothers and sisters. "One Love"

I was in Pine Ridge yesterday and asked about a "State of Emergency" being declared on the Reservation.
No one knew of either the tribal government or the State government declaring a "State of Emergency" on the reservation.
Based upon the link to the news source which is not really a reliable news source but a created web site, I would be concerned about a possible con job. Even then the article comes from Facebook which is not a legitimate news source.
I don't care if you want to send money but be careful that a con job is not at work here. A phone call to the tribal office about these selected people might be justified before sending money. It would seem that it would make more sense to send donations to the tribal office rather than just send money to "certain individuals to pay for their heat & food" because "someone" posts up a website requesting aid for selected people. Do you really know that these people need help or are just using you? If they are in need – fine, but do a little checking before getting took.

Hey Fred, glad to read your comment, I wish I had read it before I gave the Lakota Plains Propane my credit card number for propane for a tribal member. I certainly hope I am not one of those who was slickered into being a dummy instead of trying to help someone. I'll keep you informed. Hang in there my Indian friend.

Yet there is a lots of con artists out there to scam honest people who want to help. The fact that it is Christmas don't make any difference to them - just another chance to make a buck. I certianly would help someone that truely needed help. No one should ever go hungry.
