Actually, they don't say WHERE THE CARJACKING occurred. After they jacked him, the drove to a 7-11 in Inglewood and used his ATM card, and then left his burning car in Hawthorne.

Based on what I read, and what I see when I am down there, it seems like the entire South Bay is starting to go down the tubes.

They said it happend near his home in El Segundo. They than drove the car to Hawhorne and set it on fire and than used the ATM cards in Ingelwood. South Bay Native wrote: They are saying the crime occured in Hawthorne. I thought this was where the car jacking occured. Was that just where they used his ATM? Cause I thought they said that was in Inglewood. I think the man is just from El Segundo and the car jacking was in Hawthorne

Crowbar - no thanks...I would stand in front of a judge any day than get hit with a crowbar. Such is life (or death) in 2008!

El Segundo ain't what it used to be. It's scary anymore. I also wasn't sure where the carjacking occurred, ES or Hawthorne. Nevertheless, there are a ton of criminals wreaking havoc on the So Bay and our police here in ES and other beach cities need to be more visible and more feared (as they were years ago). Start patrolling our borders (U.S and ES!) Imperial, Grand, El Seg and stop 'em as they come in.

Wow wrote: Wow they included a description of the criminals --if they keep doing this it will blantly obvious to the rest of the world who is comminting crime in the Los Angeles area --you wnat budget cuts --stop housing these guys and deport their arses It already IS blatantly obvious who is committing crime in the LA area, and everywhere else. But the politicians don't care: they LOVE having a race of people too stupid to question Government actions, and stupid enough to keep re-electing career criminals, er, politicians. Speaking of which: when the HELL are you folks in the City of LA going to storm City Hall, carry Mayor VivaLaRaza out on a plank and send him to Mexico, the place he obviously loves so much? What are you folks waiting for???

I am a 4th generation El Segundo native and I grew up on Indiana Ct. and I take offense at supports I.C.E.'s comment that they should clean it up before it turns into Lennox, etc. The good citizens of ol' E.S. have always wanted to blame the people of that neighborhood for the problems of that town even though they are no better or no worse than any of the other people in that town. Mainly because it was one of the first parts of the town to have apartment buildings as the main type of housing and that the people that lived there were not as rich as the rest of town. When I grew up there, the court style of apartments that are built there helped to foster a sense of community that may not have been as prevalent in other parts of the community. People not only watched out for their own children but for the other children in the court as well. I know that the ethnicity has changed somewhat since I grew up there, but I doubt that the sense of community that existed then has really changed all that much

I really hope these individuals are apprehended and dealt with. It makes me sick to see that these cowards come into my hometown of El Segundo and commit crime here.

Actually, they note the address as being in the 900 block of Center Street anyway. That is located in El Segundo though. I agree that the article is poorly written - big surprise there.

It funny how the Breeze has become a rag and now caters to the hysterical, bigoted and uneducated of the Southbay. I bet the advertisers don't read these messages because it's obvious they don't have the above as their target audience.

Violent Crime is more closely associated with poverty than it is race... I wish everyone would stop making every criminal act into an immigration issue. They are no different than other immigrants or 1st generation Americans from poor backgrounds. Italians, Russians... are two races for example that are classified as white that have been pretty infamous for criminal activity. This isn't something that is an exclusive phenomenon to Mexican immigrants. With that said... there are plenty Mexican immigrants that are positive contributors to society. Arguing the rights and wrongs of immigration is one thing, but to condemn an entire race every time a crime is reported is small minded at best.
Contrary to popular belief, most of these folks are here legally... do your homework.
Another misconception I'd like to address is crime and deportation. The US is very active in deporting illegal immigrants who commit felonies.
Aside from all that crap.. the Daily Breeze is rather frustrating to read. Maybe they put little effort into the Internet page cause it is a free service, but the reporting is pretty bad. No mention of where the crime occurred and no mention of just how the crooks obtained the pin number to this guys ATM.. if this is not info that is known, they could at least acknowledge that in the article.
