Police: Fatal Shooting Marks Second Time This Year For Inglewoo...

All I have to say is that if I was a police officer and someone raised a gun to me I would've probably shot him too. It could've been the officer's life too if he hadn't shot the guy. The officers said they did have the right house and until they investigate this incident hopefully they will get some answers.

Hang Ragan...He went to the wrong apartment...A guy can't even feel safe in his own apartment...I can understand if the guy was hanging around Century and Praire, but he was in his own apartment, for God's sake...Send this l.o.s.e.r back to Buena Park PD...He is not good enough for Inglewood PD.

pull all the cops out of there and let inglewood police itself !
He's an officer and was doing his job, he's not trigger happy and he;s not targeting blacks. Who else lives in Inglewood that is out late night, or create domestic disturbances...... the odds are against this officer, but he was NOT negligent.

Where is the ACLU when things like this occurs? Why they don't stand up for the victims of excessive force by police officers?
WHATEVER ... all u want to do is conduct your "business" without the cops interferring .... you'll end up killing each other instead of the cops, but you'll make your money by killing your own people.... right? |
Let's give the cop the benefit of the doubt...But don't you get the impression that all cops consider their lives to be more valuable than the "suspects" in all cases??? |

Kevin was a law abidding individual and at home when this occured.
Kevin was a legal and registered gun owner. The police was at the wrong apartment unit. The officer that did the shooting was as recently as 8 weeks ago involved in another shooting death where he shot through the patrol car window. It happened at 12:30 A.M. at Kevins apartment unit where he paid the rent and had a rental contract. The accounts and statements can all be considered rumor because no one was there but Kevin and the police and the police are going to back the police and Kevin is dead and his side of the story cannot be told. At the end of the day two young children are left without a father. Kevin is dead. A mother has lost a son. A grandmother has lost a grandson. A sister has lost a brother. And I and others have lost a GOOD friend. If anyone would like to help the family please come to Inglewood City Hall tonight at 7:00 P.M. Just showing up to support the family is not being vindictive against the police, but to show concern that a innocent life was taken with no apparent and clear cut reason and we are all seeking the truth. http://www.myfoxla.com/myfox/pages/News/Detai... |

too many times the police kills a citizen and say "oops." BUT if a citizen kills a policeman and says "oops" the circumstances are different. Did you see that the police shot through the door? The guy was home, it was the middle of the night, he's trying to get his rest for work the next day, he wasn't out on the street gang banging, he had a legit job, what else can you say in his defense? The officer that murdered him had done so 45 days ago and he's not trigger happy? Come on people not every killing by a cop is justified and I think this is one of those that isn't. The police are to protect and serve not kill and ask questions later. If they are so in fear of their lives even when there is a closed door then no they shouldn't be police officers. I don't live in Inglewood but I will be at City Hall tonight to hear the discussions between the police and the neighborhood. I know we need the police but we do not need any that are afraid each time he is out on a call. They do have cops that do desk work so maybe that's where is Brian Ragan needs to be.

Ragan needs to be elsewhere...Back in Buena Park policing the walls of Knott's Berry Farm for signs of graffiti<<<L.o.s.e.r >>> |

What else should we expect in a state whose Governator traces his family roots back to the Nazis? Google it. With increasing & alarming frequency, police are shooting people IN THEIR OWN HOMES. They then go to the nightstand, takes the person's LEGALLY owned gun, and plant it as a drop gun. Police culture has become so insular that anyone who isn't a cop is assumed to be a criminal. The cops in Cali have ALWAYS fought against the rights of gun owners. Ironically, citing as their rationale, that mere citizens couldn't possibly meet the high standards that the cops do. And they say this with a straight face.

I seriously apologize, I should have addded that a Father has also lost a son and a Brother has lost a Brother.
And the United States Postal Service has lost a dedicated worker of the last 19 years. Thanks to all who have and will pay their respects for this tragic death. I pray that Kevins spirit lives in each and every one of us who knew Kevin directly and indirectly. People need people. People get inspired and strengthened through people. Let the inspiration of goodness and positive strength touch all of us who understand. |

I feel for this guy and his family, I really do...BUT... who answers thier front door with a gun??? Especially when those at the door have identified themselves as police. You point a gun at an officer... you take the chance that you're gonna get shot.
I am sorry to hear about your friend , but does he carry a gun to answer the door? I think if I was a policeman I would of done the same . wrong house or not he had a gun , why would he have the the need to flash a gun to the policeman ? It's hard being a Policeman in Los Angeles , the community doesn't support the PD . At least you can rest assure the Mr jackson or Mr Sharpton will be a callin soon . |
Rest In Peace Kevin...... sorry guys, got caught up, flash backs from being around a Black Drunk Step-father. (i know i know, take it to therapy)

the police are trigger happy all the time. i walked up to a cop one day to ask him where a address was and he had one of his hands on top of his gun holder. see what i mean about trigger happy cops.

Sad situation ALLLL the way around!
Ontario, huh? |
This is just sad. How does a Police Officer get to be back on patrol after a fatal shooting. If it was just a "regualar" person they would of been in jail for two months before even going to court. The Police are always held to a higher standard and its not fair.
