This is absolutely tragic. He was our carrier and he was one of the best we've ever had. The paper was always early and he never missed a day. He was a very hard worker and we are so sorry to hear about this horrible accident. Our sympathy to his family..

It is an irreparable loss, may god give strength to his hard working family to survive this tragety. Bogran family is greatly appreciated on the newspaper industry.

This young man and his family will be in my prayers. If this young man took the time to hand deliver the paper for an eldery customer, just think where that "above and beyond" attitude would've taken him. God Bless the Bogran's. You raised a fine young man.

This young man's life was tragically cut short while he just trying to earn an honest living delivering the Daily Breeze. You would think the Breeze would have put some thought and effort into presenting this horrible information in a more sympathetic light. I know the news is supposed to be unbiased, but he was one of their own! The comments from the delivery manager weren't exactly heartfelt- it's a dangerous job and we have papers to deliver tomorrow. Major faux paux, Daily Breeze.

Poor guy died delivering the daily breeze. I mean if it was the la times his death would have been much more understandable.

01/25/08 Where is the Managements/Manager's response? Remember the guy was working for Hearst! Not a word! Put some Humanity back in it folks!
"...On Saturday he came to work wearing a tie because he was looking for something better than a paper route." On Saturday he died? Freak Accident? My condolences to the Family.

bottle and go back to sleep. He died trying to make a better life. You are simply mean. You could have proved how meaningless he was by not posting but you couldn't resist could you. When you kick off I hope somebody cares enough about you. Maybe you posted here about him because you couldn't get anybody at the bar to listen.

Several years ago I got out of the company truck to drop off a container. It would only take a moment, so I left the engine running. I thought I had the transmission in park, but the truck went into reverse as soon as I got out. Fortunately, I was able to run only a few feet and jump back in to stop the truck. I was very lucky. Similar events occur every year where there are tragic results like with Manuel. My wife doesn't like to rely on the Park mode of an automatic transmission. I always had. She always pulls the hand brake in addition to putting the car in Park. I have learned to do the same, although I still try to remind myself it is better to turn the car off before I get out. Manuel is a terrible loss for family, friends and the Breeze. I hope that kind of thing never happens again.

Delivering newspapers is a tough way to make a living. You have to be up at horribly early times. Hopefully, this dangerous occupation will go the way of the milkman.

Delivering a newspaper is dangerous? These sort of accidents happen in peoples driveways. Kate Stonehedge wrote: Delivering newspapers is a tough way to make a living. You have to be up at horribly early times. Hopefully, this dangerous occupation will go the way of the milkman.

Little kids used to do it, on their overloaded bikes. Very early in the morning. And the community said it was OK.

Karlheinz Halter wrote: <quoted text> So, that is what you think. Is it thinking? "My God," I said, "it's only the daily 'Breeze,' not the U.S. Marines! He was no cop, no 'fireman'..., not even a 'security guard' uniform. Just another civilian who died." "One who tried delivering the News!" So, that's what many think, as we can see, by watching these funerals. The headline was, remember, "Breeze newspaper carrier found dead after freak accident"! I have to agree with Katherine, it was an accident. O.K. So my mom died last year with 8 grandchildren 18 great-grandchildren and she wasn't reported in the news. Just an obit. O.K. this guy died delivering the news. Not like he isn't important especially due to his age, but hey a freak accident is just that, an accident
