I would have to agree with the school. This is an example of how crime starts. It's ususlly something like farting in public and then it grows into something more serious. This is an example of a total disregard for the law.

Hmm. His parents should have him checked out by a doctor. It could be intentional, but only the little boy and God know the truth unless he is seen by the doctor. I guarantee a Colonoscopy will slow the gas down, if it isn't a medical problem. As for you grown people, pointing fingers, Get a clue. There is more room on the outside than the inside, and if it wasn't a necessary function, then God could have blessed us with a gas free, and a pain free life.

Really people, he farted, he didn't stab someone. How childish of adults to punish an 11 year old for something he had to let out. I'm 33 years old and believe me, if I had to fart be it in the house, the car, or on a bus I'd let it fly. And Lt. Dangle, where is it that you see he's broken the law, its gas, not a gun.....

Couldn't be any worse than being in the grocery line and the gross guy in front of you does the silent but smelly.Maybe the bus driver will get a severe case of gas and see if she can help letting it out.LOLOLOL

LOL, it's funny, you know it, I know it--the bus driver needs to get a sense of humor. Well, at least he learned how to muffle it, and how do you cover it and keep it from stinking up the van--I sure wish I knew that secret. Ever hear of silent, but deadly? LOL

I had to read this one twice, it was so funny. I love the part "Christian now fears his flatulance." I hope it doesn't become a phobia for the poor little guy.

Look, this whole thing stinks to high heaven. I see one way of curing this atrocity, it's called cork. Now, if that won't solve it so this poor, demure, underspoken bus driver can keep her dignity, then they should just let the kid ride in the back of a pick up or something.

Now, Lt Dangle really tapped on the issue. It could go even further than what he stated. This could lead to, dare I say it.. dancing.

This kid evidently rides the "short bus" or 'van' right? Evidently he is acting his age, and I don't read any adulation he gains by being the notorious 'farting bus boy'. They need to really air out this issue in a mature, non elevator type environment.

or, how about, hey there bus driver, how about not acting the age of this kid by trying to act like your quazi mature here. Now, when ANY kid on the bus, busts a grumpy one, all they gotta do is say it was him, and he's got more detention. OR what happens if he misses a day, and someone else let's one fly? If left up to this group of grown ups, they'll probably go ahead and give him detention anyway, cuz they'd be sure if he didn't do it, he would laugh about it anyway, right? Or maybe he hid one from them, and it asploded when he wasn't there.

Give the d.amed bus driver a can of Glade, and tell her to stfu. I find the ones for animal odors help reduce and hide those toxic green clouds of tyranny. It would sure get the stink off of them sure....

Seriously people, it doesn't take Einstein to know that an 11 year old boy doesn't have a medical problem on a school bus especially with repeat offenses of gas. He is a boy for heavens sake and 11 yrs. old to boot! You know as well as we live and breath his stinky air that he is doing it on purpose for the attention and if he has been asked to stop and he continued to do it then heck YES he should be given detention. Detention for disregard for authority and disrespect for those around him. It just shows the lack of manners this young boy is being taught at home. Shame on his parents and other people of influence in his life for not teaching him better.

Being from the same town as you, I gotta tell ya, every time I go to a certain CV's, it always seems that there is that guy you mentioned in there, and I have literally told that dude the soaps and shampoos are in sight of the register we were standing at. There are many lil ponds and water holes available if he did not have running water. You may have seen this one, he's like 40 ish.. as I am.. and has long brown like hair, that I think would be blond if he washed it real good.. wears a carhart coat.. summer or winter, and seems to have this impermeable dust cloud following him like Pig Pen from the Peanuts fame.

however, the difference here? This dude is a grown up.. the other is a child, who, by all counts, appears to be publicly humiliated by this whole thing now. Way to go grown ups!

You may wish to read this again. It also says this is the equivalent of 'the short bus' here Respecto.. meaning that it indicates that perhaps this may be some sort of mentally challenged boy. I doesn't say he's all up running around lighting the joint up now does it? In fact, he tries to hide it, if he can. How would YOU teach your child in the same situation, that being relegated to the short bus, or van here? "Son, use your finger?" or.. "son, here's a cork from mommies champagne bottle?" How do you teach a kid, that actually may suffer from something to NOT FART, when this young man may actually be trying his college best to keep it in? Ever heard of a spastic colon? I know a woman that has this, and there is NOTHING she can do when it happens. She's 25, he's eleven, and may not know.

perhaps shame on you for not reading what kind of bus they are talking about. perhaps shame on you for not understanding that perhaps one of the others, now that this kid has made headlines, will simply blame him if they do it.

he could have the start of an intolerence which causes excessive gas generation

think about it, the gas had to come from somewhere, doubt he has a magic rear that makes gas from nothing

overreaction on the school's part, kid needs to see a doctor

Grow up. He is just a child. Doctors say it is unhealthy to hold it in. I am sure you have never had to fart in your entire life HAHAHA. You must not have any children or you would not be so cruel. That bus driver needs fired!!!!! And the school needs new administrators if this is what they punish children for in that school. They need to save detention for something that is serious not a uncontrolable bodily function!
