A mother and her two young children are caught on surveillance ...

Horray for Parma Police! I live near Parmatown Mall and I am sick of shoplifters in my neighborhood. My 13 year old son was walking home from his bus stop and called me to tell me about all the police cars. I picked him up and as we were driving by we heard and saw the little girl screaming and crying as the police were trying to tell her to get out of the car ... I admit, I felt bad for her and so did my son. I explained to him that is child endangerment ... involving your child in any crime. Those children need to be taken away ASAP and hopefully they can have a life and learn that crime does not pay!

I am glad to see that they were caught. I feel bad for the children and everyone who actually owned the ID's they were using. Times are rough, but steal food and I might feel sorry for you. Baseball caps and goodies from Macys aren't going to get you my sympathy.

The kids are better off. Hope they find a good home, and are treated well. They must be pretty scared. I also hope they get to stay together.

Why aren't there any malls in predominantly black neighborhoods? This story may provide a partial answer to that question. Why don't we want you in our malls? Reference above story.

Duh, they sell everything they steal for cash for drugs. Grandma is going to have a nice retirement home in prison and our 60,000 bucks worth of care now. The parents will have a nice warm place to stay and not have to worry about the kids because they will be in juvy for the winter. Then the kids will be moved into foster care and have a great time, if the foster parents aren't just in it for the money to buy drugs they will be ok. Unless they have a few relatives in chicago that (most likely are in the same racket of stealing from others and credit card theft) why those relatives will keep those kids shoplifting skills honed until the parents get out of jail.
lets see 60 thousand to take care of grandma, dad and mom for a yr thats 180, thousand bucks not to mention how much the kids will cost the poor little taxpayer.

Fine upstanding citizens. I won't mention race because y'all know. What kind of family would do this? How much you want to bet they get welfare, food stamps, ADC (or whatever it is called). This is not to say it doesn't happen in other races but this is more the rule than the exception.

This is a shame children should be learning how to live as productive citizens not how to earn a free cell on are tax money... the parents should not be allowed to parent ever again.and granny should get the most punishment for allowing this to take place .GO PARMA P.D. your actions in this case are appreciated by your citizens .

I see the ghetto trash taught and passed their way of life right on down to the little kids. They want them to learn early how to be thugs and thugettes. Its a domino affect, no wonder the black communities are getting no better - this is a good example.

I have a problem w/ all of the above comments. I find them all to be racists. What does a person receiving food stamps have to do w/ black people shoplifting? If Cleveland would open up more jobs then maybe families wouldnt take on a "do what you have to do to survive" type attitude. Dont get me wrong, Im not condoning any one stealing, let alone kids, but I think that certain groups of people should walk a mile, let alone a foot in other people's shoes before they pass judegement!

If you have a problem with the above comments it must hit close to home. You want Cleveland to open up more jobs? Go ask your Saviour Obama to give you a job. He is the one that promised unemployment wouldn't be higher than 8%. It is over 10%. There are no jobs because of his policies. He taxes the small business people right out of business. And for your information, I have been unemployed but have never been on food stamps or any other kind of aid because I work and when I was unemployed I looked for work. Didn't expect a hand out from any one. Maybe you should try to do something to fix your race's problems with being on the dole. Teach girls not to have kids in high school or with many different men. Things just might get better. Until you turn yourselves around, we will be here to point it out to you. It isn't up to us to help you, it is up to yourselves.

Re-read your post. You are absolutely condoning the shoplifting. You are making excuses for these ghetto trash criminals AND teaching their offspring how to steal. Not a good way to break the cycle so these young black kids do not grow into thugs.

I don't feel stuffing a bag with dozens of ball hats has anything to do with "do what you have to do to survive." They're just low-life thieving thugs that have been doing this down the gene-pool line.

And by the way, I grew up one of 6 kids in a house where my mother stayed home. Not alot of money for any extras. I didn't go to the mall and steal a bagful of baseball hats to supplement my families income. Quit making excuses for this kind of ghetto trash.

My family and I are hurting with the lack of jobs in cleveland and having to raise a family but we do not turn out our kids or ourselves to steal we take whatever jobs that we can do an HONEST DAYS WORK! Walk a mile? I walk several miles every day, at WORK! these are YOUR people, Mz jones, and defending them makes you just short of an accomplice, inasmuch as you condone what they do. They are criminals, and will be locked in a cage like animals. You could send them some money, so they wouldn't have to steal

Yes, this whole board is going to reflect many racists comments. What do you expect with what these parents did to their kids. It sorta tells a story with that shoplifting clip that the kids were very obediant to their parents and didn't miss a beat in stuffing hats in their shopping bags. Those parents should be so proud. Then the kids attacked the security guards (most likely making a little more than minimum wage) dang what proud parents they must be.
