can we see the video? I've known ms. carroll for a very long time, and I know she is not a thief. period. she's had her share of trouble no doubt, but if she was hungry, she would NOT go to sunfresh and steal. period. she has a large, loving, closely knit family that she would call on if hunger or food was an issue. more likely this supposed manager is someone who doesnt like her, or maybe a jealous friend of a friend, and there was probably a verbal exchange in the store that escalated. now for all of you who are all gung ho about shooting my friend, she now has a bullet lodged in her spine, and it cant be removed for risk of paralysation,or worse, death. and anybody that thinks mr miller is a hero, you got another think comin' and i guarantee he's going to be held accountable, and perhaps sunfresh as well because this mgr. acted totally out of line, she, not ms. carroll caused the situation and the gun would never have been drawn if she acted apprpriately.

WOW...how have we become so BARBARIC...what ever happened to the JUSTICE system...anyone remember those people? This is AMERICA...where you innocent until proven guilty...but JOHN WAYNE decided to play judge, jury and Executioner, and some of us actually condone his behavior...well that is until it is your sister, mom, friend, then things seem to look different. I dont give a darn if she had held the place up at gunpoint he HAD NO RIGHT to pull his firearm! I have a license to conceal and carry BUT...almost EVERYWHERE I go there is a sign posted that says NO WEAPONS permitted...this store has one too...so why was he breaking the law in the store with the gun in the first place? Whether it was meat or money she was stealing...your gun is used to pretect YOU, YOUR family and your property...not just anyone in the street that you may see that appears to need help...you came in on the tail end of this situation and acted irrationally...my family would have your butt in court so quick...it would make your head spin...see if you come to the courthouse with that same firearm JERK!
The driver had just struck the manager, who was hanging onto the hood of a moving car: assault with a deadly weapon/attempted murder?
Mr. Miller claims the driver steered toward him. Seeing one person clinging to the front of a car comming toward you--what would you think the driver is trying to do? Assault with a deadly weapon/attempted murder #2.
Defense of another or self defense: either way, that justifies using lethal force.

ok sunfresh workers dont just go an accuse someone of stealin the have cameras everywhere so she must of been stealin in order for all this to happen an if she wasnt stealin why in helll did she run out of there if she wasnt then she would have stayed an talked to them an not run if u run uv done something wrong. u have to be strung out on drugs tonot see the cameras maybe the manager shouldnt of got ontop of her car but at least he stopped her an IF he is so bad like his neighbor is sayin he is then why is it he is legally allowed to carry a gun they jsut dont give whoever the right to carry one especially if he is a so called convicted felon... get over it people it happend its over with cops werent there to do the damn job go on with ur lives.

nb: i have a ccw permit for the state i live in. right now i'm pretty thankful it's not missouri.

this f*cking joke of a wannabe john wayne is a loose cannon, literally. he makes all of us responsible gun owners look bad.
you're telling me this chick was stealing FOOD and he decided to haul off and cap her? and that's just dandyfine?
well, gee. hope her kids aren't starving. i mean, that's probably not the case; she probably just wanted a steak dinner for herself and her meth-head boyfriend, but the point is when you're aiming a gun at a person it's because you need to take them out. you DON'T KNOW the circumstances. who elected this clown judge, jury, and potential executioner?

i have an idea. in muslim countries they stone people to death for what we think of as minor crimes (like running off with a package of ground beef, or turning your steering wheel the "wrong" way). maybe all of you bloodthirsty savages could move to the middle east. that way you won't even have to shell out for bullets. you'd all fit right in, i'm sure.

if she did try to run the manager down and mr bill saw that, he had the right to pull the gun, when she smiled at him and sent the car in his direction, then he was justified in shooting her regardless of his pass. he was legal to ccw. his life and the managers life was at risk. it does not matter what she was running from. for all he may have known, she could have shot someone in the store.

that is, if that's how everything went down. i dont like to see people getting shot, but he was justified. yes the manager could have done things different to have keeped something like this from happening.

as for "only pertecting only himself/herself and his/her family and his/her propety" you havent been around guns very long or you just dont care for anybody else. protecting 3rd party when they are in danger and you have the means to help, is your duty as a good citizen, and it is legal

As reported in the news, Miller did not shoot a shoplifter. He did not judge that a few bucks worth of meat was worth killing for. He saw a person about to be injured or killed by a woman in a car. The person in the car made no attempt to stop when he approached. The merits of the managers actions are not germane to the issue. Life was in danger. Miller was protecting the manager and possibly himself. If the woman in the car had not been using a lethal weapon, her car, she would not have been shot.
