Students File Suit Against Sanford-Brown College

This school is a ripoff, currently I have hired an attorney to pursue a law suit against them. Most of the instructors have a certification and not a degree. I am currently attending SBC in Houston, and I work there, I am in the pharm tech program and planning to go into the CVT program. I did the research unlike some of you and I found out that CVT is being hired By all the major hospitals from SBC, but only the top students. If you would put as much effort into your schooling and/or Externship as you do this forum, then you might get what you are seeking for and that is a good paying job. Also the resources are there to help you get a job, provided that your smart enough to ask for help.

Hold up, this forum is about putting your feelings on paper, and to help people recognize that you should look before you leap, "GROW UP" is just stating the obvious, that you shouldn't expect others to work for your goals. This is not an example of why the school sucks, your reply is an example of a "c" student mad at the system because he couldn't get a job after he graduated and/or keep it.

I can't speak for the other programs, but as far as the nursing programs at SBC, there is a consistent pattern of high pressure sales and deceit by the "admissions staff". I have never experienced this at any other college. I disagree with Fabian. They flat out LIE to you when you ask all the right questions so it's not so much lack of "doing your homework". I was a successful student and I am a successful RN, but I can do nothing about the fact that they lied to me about their accreditation. It's just wrong!

I attended Fenton campus, for Radiography, graduated in 2006. i spent 18 months and 3 extra years of my own trying to pass the registry. i am now in 33,000.00 debt. They promised me a job, good pay, transferable credits, and i called colleges and they will not take them. I also have to say i was able to get financial aid at other colleges before and they told me because i was not married or had a baby i could not get it. i even went back to the college to get help after not passing my registry and they told me i could not sit in on just classes i needed help with, i had to redo all classes. Hello i drove 2 hrs to this college everyday for 18 months and it felt more like i was in preschool, not college. they also told me that my entrance exam i scored very high, never got the exit interview, and on my entrance paperwork had my start date wrong. I started hearing bad things about the college so i thought well see how on it they really are. I kept my badges to monitor radiation dose and did not turn them in, and no one came asking any qustions might i add i was pregnant. I also was told that my teachers were actual teachers, come to find out NONE of them were!!!! a couple of them were only an x-ray tech for 1 year and teaching us. What a joke!!!! I am very unhappy with this school. I have creditors calling me to pay my loans that i cant pay. and for what i have no job in that field because they will not take a sanford brown student!!! I want to join a LAWSUIT!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I live in Ga and i an my co- worker are lookin to jump aboard the law suit....i went to school in 2006 and SBI was the worse decision i ever made!!!! The teachers taught out of the book....and when we fought to get him out...we were left with no teacher for the remainder of the mode!!!And now I have to get prepared to sit for an expensive test that the school was to prepare me for (and they didn't) to keep my job!!!!! If there is any one in Ga. who is too pissed off please email me so we can put an end to this mockery!!!!

i am enrolled at the vienna campus. Ive been skeptical b/c the curriculum has been too easy. Im n the criminal jus. Program. Ive had my doubts for awile. What should i do?

I am so glad to hear your comments and to finally hear someone who is proud of their accomplishments through their Sanford Brown College education. I graduated from the Granit City location in 1989 and it was absolutely beneficial in helping me acquire the necessary skills I needed to enter the professional world. It was represented that way to me, and I always understood that what I made of the knowledge I acquired, was up to me. I have never been turned away from a job because I put it as my educational experience on my resume, and I am very proud to say I am a graduate of Sanford Brown College. It is your attitude, persistence, and professionalism that will get you the jobs. I think folks are expecting to receive maximum pay for minimum effort. Recently I contacted the career services dept. at the Collinsville location and thanks to their assistance with my resume, I received multiple interviews and now have a position with great advancement opportunities. But, I always knew that while they offer assistance, the work still must be done by me.

Does anyone out there have any information about the Sanford Brown in Atlanta, Ga?

I am in the middle of the Diagnostic Ultrasound Program and everyone that I talk to in the medical field in ATL is telling me that I am wasting my money and time and that I will never get a job when I get out.

I have also noticed that the prof has the same or less education that I do (BS degree) and that some of the others less than that.

I am attending SB Atlanta and did not realize until I was halfway though the Ultrasound Program that I was not going to be taken seriously by employers. Even medical facilities in the area are telling me that even though they take our clinical students (meaning I would work there for free for school credit). They would not consider looking at a resume that was from Sanford Brown. I already have a BS degree and come to find out that many of the teachers at SB don't even have that! Scary!
When I tried to tell the Director what I was hearing from folks about SB Atlanta - he said he had not heard anything negative - NOT now I cant' beleive my eyes when I see that there are tons of folks that are trying to get their money back. Is there anyone that knows if SBI ATLANTA is any better than the other locations - help! I have a child and a disabled husband to support. I just visited SBC in Fenton today. Took the HOBET test. Was not told how much i would make at a job when i graduated. She would not give me any statistics on the number of students who complete the program, or the number of students who are empployed after graduation. I was told that their radiology program would cost 37,000 and that their new cardiosonography program would cost 26,000.

After looking at this website and searching them on the internet I will not have anything more to do with them. And I will be throwing away their info pronto!!!!

I wish I wouldn't have let them check to see if i could get loan money...now i'm worried that somehow they are going to damage ny credit score!!!

I see all the comments about Sanford-Brown and i'm looking at the school in Dallas, Tx and they told me all the stuff i wanted to hear and now i can make my decision on not attending this school and go to a community college. Where I can do better on getting a real college education. Thanks to all of the feedback.

I am in the Arlington TX and know of multiple colleges and hospitals in our area that will help get you degree in the Radiology and Nursing fields to name a few. The best for Radiology are Harris Methodist, FW, through El Centro and MCA has a ASN through TCC,and Plaza Medical Center/FW BSN. TCC by far has the least pre- requisite requirements, no algebra, and has been around for a long time. Call around and good luck!
