I saw Bill everyday, being a fellow plaza worker. He waved and said hello every time I passed him. He loved to come into my store and buys cards. When my daughter got attacked and bitten by a rabid fox, Bill, to my surprise, was the first one of many people to come into my store and ask if she was okay. His concern for my daughter struck me with happiness just to know that he really cared that much was so nice of him. I will always remember him and his kind nature. May he shine down on us with his eternal light. More love & Blessings to Karen and the rest of his family!!!

Bill was my only barber since I moved to Arcata in 1982 with my late wife Louise Williams. The salon was exceedingly kind to Louise as she battled the cancer that killed her. And Bill, well, what else can I add to the comments posted here? A genuinely caring, positive presence in every way. To say he will be missed is an understatement. My condolences to Bill's family: as I have learned, you never get over a death of this nature, but you WILL learn to live with it.

I went to get my hair cut today, and just found out about the accident. I first met Bill 3 years ago. I had just moved to town and had visited about 5 barbers until I found the one that could get it right. God doesn't make many like him. I only go get my haircut about once every 3 months; I chop it all off, let it grow out, and chop it all off again. On only my second visit, Bill knew who I was. He remembered my name, what haircut I got last time, and even what we had talked about when we first met. He was, is, and always will be a fenominal man. I have no doubt in my mind that he is "taking a little off the sides" for Saint Peter right now. I hope, by the time that I go, I am half the man he is. Thanks for everything Bill.
