Lyon sheriff's department defends deputy who killed Fernley man

I understand that police have to defend themselves but 4 shots thats alot!! could it been one in the leg . so the young man could be alive..

It's terribly sad to see that the police shot to kill this young man.

You know as reading the newspapers from Nevada you can plainly see slander against Mr.Brinkley,such as saying he was arested for drinking,Well i guess none of you drink,This was placed in the newspapers to make Mr.Brinkley look bad.I wonder how many are on the police force drink? We will never know.

Thank you sunflower!! It seems to me that the police in Nevada are on a killing spree remember the july 15 2004 killing of the 17 year old boy!!! All he wanted was his dad but thats a CRIME!! I think that the Nevada police need to be trained how to respond to a call with proper training, just because the law is called on you makes you guilty in Nevada i think.

Think about it, shot in the leg he could/would still be a threat. I'm not a Peace Officer but I think I'd keep fireing until he went down and was no longer a threat to anyone

I knew Josh Brinkley and I'm really glad hes gone. Don't assume everyone is a good person. The newspapers also failed to mention that he was an abusive meth addict, a racist, and on top of other things they also didn't tell you that the reason the police were called out was because he pointed a gun at a 10 year old girl. I think about this "man" being dead occasionally and remember that once upon a time he wanted to kill me. What did I do you ask? I'm not white. To me he was always a low-on-potencial human being that needed to be at least in prison. So once again I am pleased that he is gone. Remember there are always two sides to a story.

i wont read that artical, seeing this was enought and i fully agree with you. cops do no take leg shot anymore though they are shooting to kill...i thought that the were MADE to put on in the leg. even worse the people who work over these cops allow it to keep happening. there is justice no where if they arent trying to cover a bad case to make it look as if were one sided to protect the killer, then they are killing too. u hear that shit about those guards 4 of them beat to death a 13 year old boy, but sometime later were locked up.

yeh i know how that works. i have a forum on here about that. I will just say 4 now that a black boy was killed by a white boy and the law there is making it look like it was a mob of blacks on that 1 boy...that is NOT what happened, not at all.

examples of how people who do not even know my freinds nor the white kids start a whole chain of lies. there werent a mob, 3, 4 at the most i didnt ask all that when i talked to them, 3 in that truck and 3 of my friends and maybe another. they have really f*cked this up. if it were the other way around then those boys would still be in jail...I just know my friends and how they are.and now because of some simple bullshit we have lost a really great friend, brother, cousin and so on. Even in Nashville,TN, the cops are considered above the law and can enter a person's home without a warrant and kill people with impunity/immunity.
