I MUST make a review commentary post on this establishment in Imperial, Mo (La Pachanga). 1-19-2007, my family and I went here to eat. Intially, we were very pleased. The look of the place was very nice and authentic and the waiter was pleasant. However, this is where the kind words end. Here is what happened all in a span of about an hour in brief summarization: A) I ordered one thing, but they delivered another. B) They then wanted to charge me for .75 cents for a dab of sour cream (ridiculous). C) The waiter, who was extremely honest, stated that the guy who owns this place, also owns O' Aces Bar & Grill and is a tightwad. D) While I'm eating my wrong order and my wife and son are "still" waiting for their food, the couple behind us loudly are stating to the waiter that their child's chicken strips are raw. That waiter stated they must pay for it anyway and the customer clearly said "ohhhh, no way"! E) After they had left, another couple sat down and the "very honest waiter" told the new couple that the kitchen isn't getting any orders right, how the last order was raw and that the establishment was a total mess tonight. Needless to say, his honesty may cost him is job. F) 20 minutes after I received my wrong order, which I accepted to go ahead and eat anyway and was almost finished with, my wife and son's food still hadn't arrive. Needless to say, my wife who was very upset spoke up and said forget about it to the waiter and we left. Needless to say, we will never go back there nor will we ever recommend La Pachanga to anyone. This has to be the worst night out to eat that we've experienced in a very very long time. Such a shame, because initially we thought the place had great potential.

My husband and I ate there on a really (peek dinner time) Saturday night (Feb 10th). The service was terrific, the food was excellent. We were extremely happy with how we were treated and the food.
We will definitely be going back with our kids. Although it was loud, they didn't have people crammed in there like sardines to get as many bodies in there as possible. That to us was also enjoyable.

I have been there twice and have loved it both times. The service was great and the food was awesome. It is now one of my favorite places to eat.

Which one are you talking about. There is one on Vogel Road, Near the Target Store in Arnold. Is this the one you are talking about or is there one someplace else?
I hope you are not talking about the one in Arnold. That place is nice and the service has always been good for the family.

No, not the one in Arnold. The one off of Imperial main, near St. Joseph church. There's also one in Herculaneum, but I was referring to the one in Imperial. I'm glad that everyone else had a good experience. One occurance of very poor service was enough for us.

Sounds like steve went the week they opened. This is a new location. All restaurants have "issues" when they first open.

I have gone to La Pachanga twice and have mixed reviews. Our first visit was a great night with a friendly waiter and prompt service. We went back and had an very bad experience. They service was terrible, our waiter was the bartender and were not sitting anywhere near the bar. We had to keep asking the greeter to get things the waiter never brought. By the time my food arrived it was not what I ordered. We will probably give it one more chance, and hope for the best. There are not many restaurants out here!! It is convenient.

Wow, we LOVE this place! The one in Festus is the bets out of all of them. Secondly, Herky, and lastly the one in Arnold. The guys(waiters, staff etc)Are usually very nice and accommodating for my friends and I. We seriously go here once a week or once every two weeks and never have had a bad experience. This is the best place for Mexican in Jefferson County.

Kate,
The food is good, but I am not sure it is the best. I have found another place in the Festus area that is also outstanding. I can't recall name right now, but I will post it when I run across it again. There are a lot of great options in Jefferson County for wonderful food.

Have ate at both the one in Festus and the one in Herky and the food was awesome in both locations. My only complaint is the one in Festus. Do not, I repeat DO NOT pay with a credit card and always, always, always figure your bill before you go to the register to make sure that it is right because they will over charge you. Twice this has happened to us and once they overcharged us by $40!!! Then they will change the amount that they enter into the credit card machine and charge you what you put down for a tip twice. So always check your bill and your bank statement. I just wonder how many more people that this has happened to because it has to add up. I have complained to the Crystal City police department (Festus La Pachango is actually in Crystal City) and they just shrugged their shoulders, smiled and said that there was nothing that they could do about it. Maybe someone knows of another mexican resteraunt someplace close?

I will have to look for the name, but there is a place off of 61-67 in Crystal City. It was really good when my family and I went in.
