A) I fear that coach Stevens will face a far too strict punishment for his action, which was essentially cheating on his wife with another consenting adult.
B) I fear that the girl in question will get off looking like a victim which she is not. She cannot be punished by the law, but that does not erase her responsibility and we all know she owes the family of Stevens an apology and an explanation. She also obviously needs therapy and perhaps some time outside of a public school environment, since she is known for "getting around" and more, and her mother seems incapable of stopping this.
C) They are both responsible. She is a smart girl, but the fact remains that because he is older and supposedly more mature, he bears a slightly larger amount of the blame. This is compounded by the accusations of past misconduct. What makes things worse is she is trying to play the victim card.... That is not so, it seems she is proud of her conquests.
D) There may have been past accusations, but schools cannot and should not fire people for rumors. If they were confirmed and it was covered up, I am not surprised at all. We all know that FISD has a terrible administration, to whom the rules of law and ethical behavior are foreign.

She is not a victim she went a long with it the entire way. I believe it is both his and her fault. He was an awesome coach, teacher, and friend. he was the type of person you would never guess this would happen to. He has a beautiful family and his wife is hott! He had everything going for him. I honestly think she should be kicked off of any extracuricular activities. he is getting all the blame why doesnt she get a little herself? They need to play it both ways. I dont think it is right that his whole life is ruined and she just gets to walk away and move on with her life like nothing ever happened. She is a beautiful girl who has turned disgusting and cant control what she does. I feel as if this is a dream. Now our school has a bad rep. and our town has been through so much already.

well its sad to hear about all this but everyone at FHS knows this girls intentions ask any student in any of her classes she flirts with every teacher, constantly dresses like a whore, and is one herself no one will stick up for her except her "lookout" which is disgusting. i feel sorry for the family that faces this...its devastating to see such a nice town go through this. i just can't believe he fell for her slutty ways

A)Bottom line - It is a crime for an educator to have a relationship with a student. He knew the rules. You play you pay!
B)A young lady was graduated weeks early because she wouldn't leave Coach Stevens alone...hummm. The young lady was totally blamed by the administration and the coach was a victim...maybe...maybe not If so, he is sure victimized frequently.
C)While none of this is his wife's fault I can't help but wonder how she could have missed the years of rumors when they worked in the same building for years.
D)I too believe the main administrators should leave because Marc Williamson should have the "pulse" of every campus and know what is going on. I wouldn't be surprised of a cover up either. How could the Athletic Director or other coaches not have known?
E)It is saddest for his daughters who are absolutely innocent. I wonder how Coach Stevens would feel if an educator had a relationship with one of his girls.

What the hell is wrong with you people. This is a minor regardless. She may be a flirty, promiscuous young girl, big deal. She is the typical age for sexual flirtation. If any of you made great decisions before age 30, good for you but most people don't. He is the one who is in a position of power. He is the one who is married, not her. He is the one with children near her age. He is 42 freakin years old and knows better...falling for her ways??? What the hell? You people suck.

ARFK,
SHe is considered a consenting adult and from what I know, he is not the only teacher, he is the only one man enough to come forward that it happened. Leave him alone, she bears as much responsibility as he does---maybe more. I think it says a lot that the kids in the school support HIM and can't stand HER!!!

This is such a sad story...especially for the victims (the Stevens family) I don't consider the girl a victim. She has been disciplined by the school more than once related to sexual matters. This girl and her mom need to leave FBG and not let the door hit them on the way out. She needs counseling. I feel sad for her but angry at her at the same time. I can tell you that she is going to have a very long senior year if she stays at FHS. I feel sad for Mike Stevens but angry at the same time. I think the FHS yearbook has their students vote for certain categories, such as most likey to be president, most likely to to be on a toothpaste commercial. They have a new category. Most likey to star in a porn movie.

It's ridiculous to say she is not to blame. She has some of the blame, because she is known for certain behaviors with men, not usually attributed to normal girls. It is also ridiculous to say we are supporting Steven's, he is at fault, even if the punishment may be a bit harsh. They both obviously need counseling.

He was in a place of trust and there are NO ands ifs or buts, He most likely is headed to jail. That maybe harsh but it is the law.

He may have been in a place of trust, but are we not all in places of trust as citizens of the United States? We are all given equal rights and liberties, and it is up to us to use them correctly. The police cannot convict every misdeed or violation of ethics. The girl is at fault, she is a knowing and willing participant in this act, as much as the coach. The coach is equally at fault, but the fact remains that no matter what specific title he held, we are all in positions of trust, and that girl committed as great an injustice as he. Just because what she did was not illegal does not wipe her of the blame and just because what he did was illegal does not lay it all upon him. A seventeen year old who drinks and drives is just as culpable as a 42 year old in a U.S. court of law and I do not see why we should hold this case to any other standard. They are both in positions of trust as drivers on our roads, just as the coach and the girl were in positions of trust as teacher and student, respectively. We are not allowed to disrespect our teachers, I do not see why she should be allowed to copulate with one and then get away scot free. He should be fired, to be never allowed to work with kids again and she should be expelled.

Whoever this is (which I do know who you are is completely right. Our poor "victim" is nothing but a senseless attention seeking (expletive) and a pathological liar. Yes Stevens is at fault, but our "victim" has a questionable amount of improper relationships as well. If word is right which it most likely is, she is currently dating a twenty-seven year old. Hmmm, see the connection? But wait the plot thickens... If I might recall last years district track, there where very credible eyewitnesses (including me and some other who are probably reading this) who witnessed our "victim" flirting with a Burnet Coach. Wow what a shocker! It's almost as if there is some sort of connection being made!!! It is disgusting to see a young person who takes pleasure in these acts and is able to twist reality and lay all the blame on anyone but herself. If all goes according to HER plan she will get accepted to a very prestigious school and these recent events will just wither and die away. One way or another people will make sure her past will follow her everywhere she goes. She deserves to be punished for what she has done. There is no negligence. She knew very well what she was doing was wrong and ILLEGAL.

You get the chance to prove how romantic you can be when the mood is right. Why not arrange a candlelit encounter with that very special person in your life. There's a strong possibility that you could become involved in a relationship that has to be conducted in secret or which you want to keep strictly private.
