When a meth lab has been discovered in a home, does it not have to be cleaned by a special clean up crew before people can live in it again? Does anyone look into this to be sure landlords are not still renting these places to people without proper clean up? Also, what danger do these uncleaned places pose on the community?

they first mark the building off with tape,as soon as they can get a clean up team in to do the job they will have it cleaned.i have seen it done before.as for the landlords being checked out to make sure it is done im pretty sure there is no one that checks them out.but i would guess though that the landlords will make sure it is done because it only seems logical.the chemicals left over in these places can be extremley dangerous to anyone that comes in contact with it,kids playing in the floor where the stuff is mixed is the worst ase senerio.sounds awful doesnt it.

There is one in Leslie County that was never cleaned and a person lives in it. The landlord is well aware and apparently does not care.

live in a house safely where lot meth been made.unless you gut the whole house the poison chemicals gets into the walls and when you shut the doors it comes back out. it takes 20 yrs to be safe to live in .don't care how much you clean the floors and wash the walls. its a health hazard.up to 20 yrs.i wouldn't have a house meth been made in to live in and lot people wont even tear them down and use the windows and out siding on one.

Walls have to be torn out and so does the floors and noone does it. Hazmat should check back before anyone could move in. It is so dangerous and the lasting effects are unknown. It is so sad! I think that when meth labs are found in homes children should not be give back to their parents at all. They have endangered their lives to the fullest extinct, but I guess the officials don't care. I hope they get all the labs! But again the judges won't do anything to them when police take them in.

the medical facts that has been given to the drug enforcers or at least it what one told me .they said anybody that used meth within 5 yrs that they would have some form of cancer from the drug.so if kids breath it.or adults it could not help from having the same effect on them.so the way i see it.if you live in a place that meth been made in then you living in a cancer enriched place..who would wont their kids and love ones exposed to that.that's why when you buy a place it would be good to know who been living their.have you noticed all the repo homes and trailers just setting that has a history of meth making in them.people wont buy a death house .cant blame them who wont's buy cancer for their families .them old homes needs tour down burnt.

I agree. If the homes cannot be properly cleaned they should be torn down. No way I would buy a home if I knew that a meth lab had been in it or even if someone who was a druggie had lived there.

In fact, I wouldn't live in one even if it was "properly" cleaned.

if house is "properly" cleaned then i dont see wy one coudnt live in it,properly means cleaned to the farthest extent which could mean all the way up as putting new plywood down,paneling,ect..its hard enough for people that needs a home to find one whether its a young ouple just got married or th oldest of couples.saying you wouldnt live in one that has been "properly cleaned" is a bit out of hand and making yourself sound like youre better than the next person.not everyone has the money to buy a new home and must live where the can.also saying you wouldnt live where a druggie has lived is a bit outta hand also.i agree that meth labs are awful and these houses need to be properly cleaned.if you find yourself in financial trouble bad enough you will live where ever you can find a place unless you wanna raise you kids under a rock.i wouldnt want my kids to hav to live in any of those places either and would try my best not to have to live there unless i was driven to it,BUT i would make sure it was properly cleaned before i moved into it.anything can happen these days to a family finacialy.

I would not live in a house where there was a meth lab, "properly" cleaned or not. NO WAY. I own my own home. Why would I ever "have" too? I would consider it a health hazard. And no, I wouldn't want to live where a druggie had. Maybe a meth lab was never found there but how do you know one never existed there? If you would live there, fine, That's your business.

come into a house meth been made in you be able to tell.the fumes gets behind the walls and stays their for 20 yrs. coming out into the air you breath and who ever in their it will cough you big time .i just checked one out about a week ago .you couldn't breath in that place.the ones got it going tear it down and burn it.they no their no way it can be restored safely.so they just going grade it back off and build from scratch.

remove children from a home where meth is being made, I read somewhere that they are supposed to burn their clothes and toys. The cops suit up, or are supposed to, in protective gear. I wouldn't sleep one night in a place like that.

Some law enforcement needs to follow up and make sure nobody lives in these places. I know an old woman is living in one where a meth lab was very recently found and there was absolutely no clean up. This place is rented. She lived there when it was found and lives there now.
