veterans day

is there a reason for such a poor turn out for the veterans day celebration in clearfield??? many people get this day off work as a holiday but they did not show up at post 6 american legion!! maybe they don't know where there freedom comes from.... where was the mayor elect.?? where were the rest of the county commisioners?? hats off to john sobel who did show up... also the students that where there but where are the adults that should be setting a example to these children.... in closing think about what is going on in the world today and who is putting it on the line so all who didn't show up for a one hour celebration can get the day off work..

Most locals were out looking for another handout. The mayor elect was probably at the firehall.

the other commissioners were speaking at the vets day ceremony at the VFW in Dubois which was held at the same as the event in Clfd.

Was at The Legion post, didn't think crowd was all that bad. Most people just ignorant or lazy - As is made clear by 'Thank a vet' in his/her previous post.

I was at Dubois event, the VFW was full, like 300 people.

I had to work yesturday but what I find disturbing is that not all but alot of younger kids dont even have a small clue about what Verterns Day is. Why? They make sure are kids are taught about how to identify the four parts of a flower but not how to properly shake a hand and say thank you. So to all you Vets I wanta say a huge THANK YOU
