Langley Park has gotten to be a place for street hoodlums from El Salvador to hang out and recently, they have been going to retirement homes and businesses such as Leisure World and places in Wheaton to commit crimes in which when people are away, they would pick locks to go in to steal money and property to take to stores to sell for money. Police are asking retailers to provide details of their inventory electronically to police by using computer internet protocol. As of last week, 127 hoodlums have been apprehended and police say that they are members of the MS-13 and 18th Street Mexican Mafia. States Attorney John McCarthy is planning to prosecute more felons such as hoodlums committing armed robberies of gas stations in the Wheaton-Glenmont areas in which since May, there have been over 476 violent robberies. A third of them resulted in murder(felony-murder) and the prisons and jails are being maxed to the limit. Police Chief Thomas Manger of Montgomery County said that during the warm months, the detention centers and the prisons have been taking in greator numbers of inmates and fights against the guards and staff by the inmates are happening more according to information obtained from deputy wardens from various prisons. Case in point is that within the last two months, several guards and staff have been stabbed and murdered by inmates using knives and other material made into knives(shanks) and the numbers are expected to get higher as the temperature rises according to deputy warden reports compiled recently for press review.

Our precincts are teaming up with the ones in P.G. County to clean out the area of Langley Park and make it civilized again like it once was years ago when americans were living there.
