I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT MISS PIGGY WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE EXHIBIT AT THE SMITHSONIAN. WHY WAS SHE LEFT OUT? IS THIS A PART OF CONTINUING HIS-STORY AND LEAVING HER-STORY OUT? MISS PIGGY IS A BELOVED FIGURE THAT MANY YOUNG WOMEN HAVE GROWN UP WITH AND FROM WHOM THEY HAVE LEARNED IT IS OK TO BE YOURSELF. YOU DON'T THINK OF KERMIT WITHOUT MISS PIGGY. YOU DON'T THINK OF MISS PIGGY WITHOUT KERMIT. WHY WOULD SUCH A MAJOR PLAYER OF THE MUPPETS BE EXCLUDED FROM THE DISPLAY?

Although Miss Piggy is a muppet she is not one of the originals, like Kermit the Frog, and she wasn't created by Jim Henson, like Dr. Teeth and Rowlf the Dog. Miss Piggy is a creation of Frank Oz, Jim Henson's Co-Conspirator and friend. Leaving Miss Piggy out has absolutely nothing to do with discrimination against women or a "his-story vs. her-story" sort of thing.
