Isn't it sad that the government now pays people to take care of thier own family and even then they cheat.

A grubby affair. UCP isn't blameless. UCP must remember that "Opportunity makes a thief."

This is the reason why health care is so expensive. There is no check and balance in billing medicare. I know first hand what home health care providers and even hospitals bill medicare for without even providing the services. There needs to be a system in place to check what medicare is being billed for actually was performed.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem!

I AM AN CONSUMER OF UCP, AND AM GIVEN 73 HOURS PER WEEK TO WORK WITH. I ALSO HAVE THREE ATTENDENTS, BUT I PERSONALLY MAKE SURE THEIR HOURS DO NOT OVERLAP EACH OTHER. COME ON. IT ONLY TAKES A LITTLE COMMON SENSE. THEY WERE JUST PLAIN THIEFS' WHO WILL ONLY TRY IT AGAIN IN SOME OTHER WAY.

how about a well known Podiatrist who regularly trims toenails for 20+ residents in an assisted living facility,(in a medical room, NOT their private quarters), averages 5-10 minutes per client, then bills Medicare $50 each for the service PLUS $50 each for 'home visit'? Yet M/C says this is all legally correct!

"Lynch, the mother of the client Jamie Grubb, later said she signed them based on the fact that they were in the house, and that they may not have necessarily been providing care during those hours, according to court documents." ???? Why did she sign anything if services were not provided? "Special Agent Veronica Bowers, of the Medicaid Fraud Control Division, launched an investigation into the timesheet discrepancies and the end result was that there were 1,176 hours filed -- totaling $13,218 -- that were never completed, according to court documents filed Friday." Which is it? This sounds like someone trying to cover their own ass by blaming a failure in the daily oversight. The real question is this; was this intentional or a matter of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing? Medicaid management should have caught this well before 1,176 hours had lapsed. I'm willing to bet some d-bag starts blaming Obama etc..Stay classy Pa.

I'm telling you right now..that this happens alot with people that work for UCP. THey write down times that there not even there and they write down for times that the people they take care of are at the doctor while they sit in the persons house on the phone talking. Some of the people that r being takin care of don't need all the time they are given to use in one day. My thought is UCP need to pop in on these home more often and really see whats going on. Cause it's a lot of nothing but sitting on there butts not doin a damn thing and getting paid for it.
