Everyday I drive by Winfield High School and see these kids in their $40-60,000 cars and Hummers and it blows my mind. Funny thing is most of them are from Hurricane. It makes it tough to drive through Winfield in the morning because all these kids are on the road. Not to mention all the parents driving their kids to school. What ever happened to riding the bus?

Because there all spoiled is why they don't ride the bus. I understand there are sometimes circumstances where they would need to be picked up or dropped off. And I think if you can ride a bus you should, after all it's the tax payers that pay for them. And the way I see it we are wasting a lot of money for the bus to drop one or two kids off.

I have a child who doesn't ride the bus. I would love to send them on the bus...but the bus runs at 6:25 am...so I would have to get a elementary student up at 5:30 am which is ridiculous so before you judge and call kids spoiled there are a lot of circumstances like this. Even for high school kids which I have one in high school as well. So my thoughts would be take your problem to school board cause even the parents who drive don't really like it. Maybe the buses should run at a normal time

And that is false. There are an extremely extremely small amount of kids from hurricane who go to Winfield. I transferred and moved and checked all this out before we moved.....

And I understand totally about the moving an wanting too keep your child in the same school. We did the same thing with our son, we let him finish the school year and transferred him the next. That's one of the circumstances I was talking about. But you have to know that there are a lot of spoiled kids who just refuse to ride the bus.

I wish they would change the school time. If they made it later we could all be at work before they are all on the road. It's hard on little ones to be at school so early. Other states do it. A 9-4 day would be great

My kid loves the bus.. I would rather take him due to bus running at 6:45. I work long hr's and don't get to see him much in the evening, so morning's are important to me. I'm sure other's fall in this category as well, you know the spoiled one's that get driven to school by their parents that want to spend a little extra time with them. Don't judge or even say spoiled. You don't know. People that say look at these kids driving 30K cars(Spoiled)are usually the one's that wish they would have done a little better when they were young (Planning for the future). There are always going to be the Fortunate and Less Fortunate. Just the way it is.

The spoiled, rich kids are going no where in life. I drive a 1999 car and I work for what I've gotten. Stop judging before you walk in the shoes of High School kids.

FYI I'm one of those "spoiled rich kids" that "aren't going anywhere in life" and "wish they would have planned better for the future" I'm a senior in high school, just got accepted into nursing school, have a 25-30 hour a week job, and make straight A's. some parents buy their kids new cars as a reward for hard work.
