Same old Preston MD politics. Wonderful Town just have to trust there employees a little to do there job.

You should really try to not give out your opinion on a town that you do not live in ! The town is a great place to live and raise a family as far as the "politics" of this situation I can assure you politics had nothing to do with it, so again I don't think trying to make the town out to be some difficult place to live or work because of the "politics" is a good thing to do unless you know the facts...

Didn't they have "issues" with the police chief before Reed too.

I can only guess that "politics" had a lot to do with the firing of the Police Chief in Preston.
One wonders how a man who served his country in
the Air Force, had two succesful terms as a sherrif and was the Police Chief of Preston for
two years with no problems until now.

Was it because two new full time police officers
were hired by Chief Reed and the town Commissioners felt they did not need a Police Chief now?

Did the town Commissioners not want to give more
hours or pay for 3 and 1/2 police officers?

Did the Police Chief have the nerve to disagree
with the Commisioners?

#1 No one gives service to there country in the Air force that's a joke!

#2 Reed never hired the 2 police officers

#3 it once again has nothing to do with the commissioners...

How would you happen to have a clue as to what happen unless you are a Commissioner or Chief Reed himself?

Well it doesn’t take a genius to notice that there are not 3 different cops driving around, but I guess you saw something different.

Also you should be asking these other people the same question. Or am I being questioned because I am not placing blame on the commissioners? If you have a personal problem with the commissioners in the town maybe you should stop bitching about it and go to a meeting a state your concerns. I personally liked Chief Reed and spoke with him at length many times; I just don’t have any respect for a person that will make accusations about a group of people they don’t know, because of what they have heard from some other misinformed idiots!! I do believe that there is at least one commissioner that should retire due to age and trying to stop the town from making any sort of progress due to religious beliefs, but that is a different discussion all together. I just wish that before people bash our town and ALL of our ELECTED officials they would get there facts straight!!! Be part of the solution not the problem, or just continue to get all of your information from the rumor mill. You are all sheep!!! Have a great weekend.

It does have to do with money (overtime), integrity and the commissioners.

I am going to call the paper and have them write a story about me, and how I say I am 8 feet tall because that's what I tell them to write, and then you can get on here and tell everyone that it is the only truth out there because it’s in the paper. Someone in his position is probably going to play the blame game, and the commissioners are an easy target. I am sure there are many reasons why he was fired and I will bet you in the end it's no ones fault but his own. I do understand that he says it is overtime pay he didn't receive but you have to work the hours to get paid, Preston is a very small town so its not to hard to notice if he is never around. never believe what you hear and only half of what you read, because remember there are 2 sides to every story, and so far the only group showing some class by not blasting Reed are the commissioners. So calm yourselves down and try to go off of the facts instead of that rumor mill crap running around your little head.

It isn't hard to know if a police office is working or not. Offices are on the radio and the call board has the start, stop and check in times. Preston Commissioners and Town Mgr. you loose.

If by "Moron" you mean I am the only one on this board other than Cole Train with common sense then yes I am a moron. And for the record I do live in the town of Preston, it is however a shame that I have to share my great town with a person such as yourself that makes their decisions based on what other people tell them to think. I would also like to add that if you are one of the people on here that has a problem with the commissioners in the town I would like to invite you to pack up your sh#t and get out .

What about it? Oh you must think that because someone has filled a lawsuit against the town it must be true what he is saying..

Okay well I think I need to clear something up I am not taking either side on this I just don’t believe you all should believe one side of the story without hearing the other, and that is exactly what you are all doing. The town of Preston has the right to do whatever they chose when it comes to employees if they are not meeting expectations at there job.

Again try to be more open minded and if you hate the town so much over this idiot that got fired then leave the town that will show us!!!
