Why would people want to move on this end? 10 working meth labs discovered last month, drug and weapon bust, car break ends, children sex offender ; and the (christian) people of south Huntsville are concerned about what? Sound like a perfect place to minister in, I'll see you soon!

For the person who said "typical" of the area...my home is in the Chaffee neighborhood, a stone's throw from these apartments that the Housing Authority took over earlier this year. All of the houses are nice, well-kept and homes to hard-working, middle-class people. After attending the meeting early this spring, I was resigned to being open to our new residents in the area. This is exactly what we feared would happen. We were told these apartments would be heavily screened and there would only be upstanding citizens moving in. Thank you, Michael Lundy, for this wonderful "improvement" to our area.

Im sure the area WAS nice, but look what is happening....school systems are going downhill, neighborhoods becoming unsafe...no wonder residents in South Huntsville are hostile about HUD moving in!!! The system is flawed- and now we will be begin paying the price, one neighborhood at a time.

You are sensationalizing the news, lets face it, the police were trying to get drugs off the street and arrest the people selling the drugs and all you could say was Drugs and Weapons seized. You report news just like the typical liberal media!

To the concerned neighbor, these townhomes ARE NOT the same ones that the HHA took over. The people arrested were living in the condos down the street from the APARTMENTS. However this is a major concern for the area. There are drugs in all areas and the problem needs to be taken care of in any way possible!!

These apartments are next door to the public housing apartments recently in the news in South Huntsville. When I lived there 19 years ago they were very nice. Now they are a blight.

as long as the huntsville police department keep hasseling the people in nw huntsville, the people in sw,se huntsville are able to do that and they know it. if they would stop trying to get that money back for building the jail by writing tickets on people in nw huntsville, they can get the real criminals!!!!!

Thank you for the clarification that it was in the town homes and not the HA apartments.

it dont matter where you stay adrug bust can happen anywhere just like someone can get killed anywhere. by the way everybody who lives in public housing is not ghetto or bad. just certain. but this of course does not mean they are a bad person or people. we all make mistakes. you nbever know who your living by even in the best neighborhood

More meth labs and drug busts..although the HHA residents are screened....this is about the friends and associates of HHA residents....those people are the drug dealers and meth cookers. Its cooked "off site" then sold to the nearby HHA residents. Its just another way the HHA rats get around the ZERO tolerance policy.

The phrase "where you stay" is a prime example of low class black culture...never is a house or apartment referred to as a "home" its just a place to "stay" until the HHA uproots you again to "stay" somewhere else! Why don't you people ever refer to your place of living as a "home"?
Now you want to come down to South Huntsville a "stay" awhile?? What a joke...

Carter, come on. Do you honestly believe that the only people that sell meth and other drugs are the one's in public housing? The answer is probably yes. You think you know so much about the people in public when you really know nothing at all. The only thing you know is stereotypes and your own ignorace that blinds you. Why don't you go out to one of the public housing neighborhoods and meet some of the people so you can know what most of them are really like. As far as "low class black culture" goes should I blame your ignorant beliefs and way of thinking on your "white superiority syndrome" and "if it's white it is the only thing that's right"? South Huntsville is not all is cracked up to be. I lived on that side of town for practically my whole life. I moved from that end about 5 years ago. Things go on on that side of town just like it does anywhere else the media just doesn't jump on like they do with things that happen on the north side. Not everyone wants to stay on the south side. Your home is where you stay.

C Carter, if you want to see some meth cookers, go to Marshall County and DeKalb County.

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Cancer

If you've been troubled lately, now's the time to seek a friend's counsel. Even just a little tea and sympathy will be nice, so plan to have lunch with someone simpatico. Everyone needs to spend a little time with someone who won't judge them; Cancer is often wonderful at giving this sort of unconditional affection but often has a harder time seeking it out. Accept a little TLC... you need it now.
