To me, the idea of school uniforms is a great for these kids. It prepares them for the workforce in what field they may choose. Both parents and the board are using a good strategy by putting their heads together and doing away with unfit clothing items, like short shorts and baggy jeans.

I think it's a great idea. We just moved from Huntsville to Dothan and here the kids wear uniforms. At 1st I didn't like it but I love it now. The clothes are inexpensive and look great. A plus for some kids is the ones that can't afford the stylish clothes won't be picked on for clothes....its a win win for the kids, even tho they wont see that right away.

YES to uniforms. I've voted on this in the past & will vote yes again tonight. Uniforms don't cost any more than "regular" clothes over time & just like any other type of clothing, the children will outgrow them & then they can be given to Goodwill or another family so that some other child can use them. I do this now with mine & my childrens' clothing so this will be no different. There are so many creative ways to save money on clothing(uniforms or otherwise)that those complaining about cost must have simply overlooked. I didn't grow up rich & I'm not wealthy now, but I make do with what I have & my straight A children have learned the value of a dollar.

WATCH WHAT YOU SAY HERE FOLKS!!!!!! BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING......Remember C.J. Grisham tried to speak out against school uniforms at Williams Elementary last year and was sumarily run out of town by A. Williams (BTW a R.A. Moore disciple)and her crash-test-dummies on the Williams PTA. and here is a news flash......no matter haw the phone poll turns out we will be told that WE ALL wanted it and therefore uniforms will be the standard of the day. They will shove it down out throats just like they did at Williams. For a community that is founded on great minds thinking outside the box we are killing generations of free thought. Oh and by the way......even if they say its so THEY CANNOT MAKE ANYONE WEAR A UNIFORM!!!!!!!! THEY CAN'T MAKE THE THUG COMMUNITY ADHERE TO THE CURRENT DRESS CODE HOW ARE THEY GOING TO ENFORCE THIS?????? STILL LIVING IN AMERICA???? YOUR DRESS AS YOU PLEASE!!!!!!!!

I wore uniforms for 12 years. I am a Catholic School Survivor. Looking back, I can see where it saved my parents money and aggravation. With uniforms, one isn't singled out as being rich, poor, "stylish" or hopelessly out of date. Everyone looks the same. I only hope the uniforms of today are better looking than the hideous styles colors and patterns that we had to choose from!

bubles---a teen wrote: I am a teen at a school that has uniforms i don't positivily hate them. But i feel that the crush self expession. you cant have your own special style because we're all the same. adults always tell you be yourself it doesen't make sense cuz now we can't. they are (contrary to popular belief) more expensive because then you have to buy school clothes in addition to normal cool clothes. I know this new uniform thing wouldn't afect me but I want to be heard unforms are a BAD IDEA!!! You should probably spend more time studying grammar and less time worrying about what clothes to wear.
