i was in goodwill yesterday, the west end. they have completely overhauled the place. while it looks much cleaner and neater with the isles wider, there is a feeling that the place is trying to be a boutique, a walmart, target so to speak. and they have increased prices. jeans are 6 dollars, used jeans, donated jeans. this is a joke. who ever is running the goodwills now is crazy. they are delusional. first all their clothes, everything is donated. so the prices are absurd. the nik naks are so unbelievably overpriced. half burned candles for 3 dollars. no shoes now. only a few pairs. no toys it looked like. the jewelry in the cases is like 10 dollars a piece. go to gab'S everyone. seriously, you can get jeans on the clearance rack for 5 dollars. not used. and there is no end of the month 50% off sale anymore either. i sincerely hope people stop shopping there or any other good wills if that is their case also. it is about the money not the people. that is obvious. some one very greedy and uncaring has taken over. a new one opened in chesapeake. probably the same thing. it was just so sad to see what a organization with donated items has come to---pure greed.

My husband and I took a couch to the Lavalette Goodwill and because it had a cat claw mark on the side they refused it, I'm like this couch still is in good usable shape, what do they want, so I won't take anything back to that Goodwill!

Goodwill prices really have become outrageous. I get better deals at Kohls and JCPenny.
I went there about a month ago because I need some stuff and was low on cash but still couldn't afford things.

i believe that you called someone a "gripe" so where is the justice? you can call someone a name, but others cant?
no, you grow up!!!
and by the way, read on the below comments about Goodwill. people are fed up with the pricing. yes, goodwill is suppose to be for the people and not the pricing. the overpricing that is. and the person who wrote that they can get better deals at khols and pennys is telling the truth.
goodwill is awful. used to be wonderful and looked forward to going there. not now. everyone you talk to agrees.
you might want to go into the place yourself and look around.
be enlightened.

oh i believe gripe is a descriptive word. look it up.
and for people like you who think it is not polite to complain about such things as ridiculous rising prices especially from an industry that was designed to be for the unfortunate and begs for donations, let me say this, you can pay the city fees, the soaring electric and gas bills, of all huntington residents. since you think all these rising prices are perfectly fine.
lol.
