I can't believe they haven't arrested anyone yet for killing that poor girl. A couple of years ago, they said in an article that they knew who it was but didn't have enough evidence to prosecute. At the time, I heard it was the stepsister/&/or stepsister's boyfriend. Anyone know anything?

I'm not sure asking Topix is going to be the most reliable form of information on a murder. This is the same site where "x said y about z and is (insert one here) a.)a whore b.)a bitch c.) embezzling money d.)is some outlandish lie that is slander to a degree I cant even believe. These are the same people that complain about walmart ripping them off and 'sue' is cheating on 'johnny'. I'm not saying that it's not a bad thing that you want to find out who did that. It's a horrible thing that happened. I'm just saying the sources aren't the most reliable.

I agree with you "probably not", but where should they go for reliable info on this case? "we know who did it but we just can't prove it", still leaves a community with a murderer running around! Prayers for the Hickman family.

I'm not counting on Topix to solve a murder here, but considering how many people are on here every minute and the fact that an innocent young girl was brutally murdered and the crime was left unsolved and we as citizens have just allowed the case to be buried without any answers is just wrong. People deserve justice and if that's not possible, they deserve to not be forgotten. I guess my real frustration is that. We enable the flaws in the system by allowing them to pass.

I dont know who did it but in my opinion (yeah i know every one has one and most are wrong) it was the sister/stepsister probly come home and causght leah in bed with her ole man rage is a bitch but hey thats only my opinion and what the hell do i know!!!!!

I hope and pray that this is being actively investigated and not put on a backburner "waiting" for a clue to come in... I hope they are hitting the streets and doing some hardcoring investigating. And I pray that not a one of them sleep at night until this case is solved!

They do know who did it, just not enough evidence. Come live in Mason Co. where Leah was from. We have a triple murder, two bodies found, one still missing - UNSOLVED!!! Makes me sick. I think it is incompetence. I really feel in the Hickman case the crime scene was trampled also. In the cases in Mason not being solved, I think the biggest thing is fear.

And then her sister strangled her and what...the stepfather just stood there and let it happen? Jessica and Leah had a good relationship and there is no evidence of Leah having an inappropriate relationship. I don't think that this is how it happened at all. He had always butted heads with Leah in the past. He encounters her, realizes that all of his crap he left at the apartment before he got deployed has been moved so that Leah could sleep in that bedroom and gets pissed! How dare Leah take his place! Plus he probably is suffering from PTSD and that was the straw that broke the camels back. First Jessica leaves him, next Leah takes his place?... A moment of rage and there's the crime. Regardless of how it happened, I just wish HPD would do something about it. 4 and a half years is a bit too long to go without ANY arrests.

Closest response they'll give is they don't think it'll stick in court and then because of double jeopardy he can't be put on trial again. Which I understand to a point but I don't know what else they think they're going to find at this point.
