I agree Frank, but where did he learn this skewed view of catholicism? As I learned from a child growing up in Brooklyn, "the fish stinks from the head down". Everyone who reads this can draw their own conclusions. It was my contention that the Bishop had intentions of closing down OLL parish from the beginning. The closing of the School was just part of that plan. The changing of the guards to a liberal parish from a Conservative parish that was thriving, to one that asked the parishioners to bring back the parishioners in the area, that were forced out because of this change of venue. Our problems, and that of the Parishes located in an area of about 3-5 miles, started from Bishop McGann, and have continued since then. Most of the parishes under the DRC are more like a Protestant parish, than a Catholic one. Why have the ex-parishioners of OLL driving 20 miles away to go to the Latin masses? The celebration of the Mass, is not a party. We have Almighty GOD on the altar, giving his Body,Blood,Soul, and Divinity up for us. We are giving ourselves to Almighty GOD, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and receiving Almighty GOD, through Jesus that we are taking into ourselves, Physically, Spiritually,
Divinely. If the parishioners were told that they could see GOD at the Church, would they come as if they were going to a BBQ, or going to the Beach? The actions of the Liberals, do not show respect for Almighty GOD. Are they just going to the motions of attending mass because of their fear of what takes place after we leave this life, or to cover their tails just in case(in their minds) there may be an afterlife?
If indeed that is the reason they are attending mass, they are doomed, for they are not attending mass at all. I am sorry for my long posts Frank, but it just seems to come out of me, and I do not mean to preach to everyone, as most who read and post here are very good Catholics, probably better than me. My intentions are not to Preach to the mistaken Catholics, but to awaken them to the dangers of Liberal teachings, and like "Itchy Watch", take what they chose to believe, and discard that which they do not want to adhere to. GOD bless you , Toni, Lou, WHG,"Very Disappointed", you encourage me, and enlighten me greatly. In case "Itchy Watch" gets his nose out of joint, "We are all sinners here, but are trying to save our souls by following the Catholic teachings as handed down to us by Jesus, through Peter and the Apostles". We do not judge, but observe, and avoid the errors of those like "Itchy Watch" who show us how we can further sin in our beliefs. "Itchy Watch" unfortunately has exposed himself to all that post and read this blog, and has confirmed what we secretly felt about him from the start. I do not believe that anything we say can change him, possibly because he feels inflated, and believes he knows better than we, and the Pope. Too Bad, So Sad. We can but pray for him, and hope that Our Lord will act on our prayers, though I shudder to think of how this will happen. I live only in hope that I will some day hear our lord say "Come in my good and faithful servant".
