After reading these comments, it is very sad to see that it is actually the same person posting negative posts. Not to say all of them are, however, it is quite amazing that there are some companies out there that decide to throw dirt on other companies to better present themselves. That is very low. Why not present quality products to achieve customer satisfaction? There is not much complaint on the QUALITY of the items but only on the sales rep. I do not see how this would be a big deal. If I am getting the best of the best then it really doesn't matter. Galkos definitely produces great work! Especially since my meters are spinning backwards because of Galkos Construction! PS: I never received any bad service.

That's excatly what they do, it is called rehash. They run two shifts 8:30 to 3:30 and 3:30 to 8:30. They will continue to call even if asked not to. They also say they are sponsoring a "neighbor hood pride program" which confuses potential customers into setting an appointment. If your number is written down anywhere in the building expect calls for years to come. They also bid high and only come down to a reasonable price if all else fails.Avoid this company at all costs.

I am definitely NOT going to use Galkos. They quoted me $14,000 for a patio cover. My parents got a similar cover from Galkos a few years ago and only paid $4,000. The salesman asked very personal questions (how much did you pay for your house, how much money do you make a year, etc.) and made me feel very uncomfortable. I do not recommend this company to anyone who does not wan to have to deal with VERY high pressure salesmen who ask questions that are far too personal and irrelevant - especially when it is a simple estimate.

Excuse me but I must reply to these "Hard Sale Tactics" and other comments regarding GCI Energy. I am an employee-one of many who calls prospective customers-and I have to say to our defense that we only try to give those we are calling all the information we possible can regarding not just our discounts but also about the Government stimulus package + the tax credits that are available to them. There are some of us who may sound a bit "agressive" due to our excitment in being able to pass on knowledge about Energy Conservation, especially Solar. It's amazing how misinformed the public is regarding solar. As far as harassing phone calls-well it's an automatic dialer so it's not as if we are targeting spacific people-quite the contrary-if you tell us we make it a point to take your info to our manager to remove it from our calling list. GCI is a family owned and operated company and treats it's employees well. The marketing departmenht works with their employees teaching us how to talk to our future customers with respect and enstills in each of us the fact that truth is our best friend. They have been in the Energy Conservation business for over 30 years now so they must be doing something right. Maybe it's the fact that they believe that our customers are our best line of advertisement not to mention our life line. Their integrity stands up among the very best. Plus we GUARENTEE the lowest prices ANYWHERE! If you don't believe me see for yourself! Before you decide on that Solar system or those windows or even new insulation-call us for a NO COST/NO OBLIGATION and NO HARD SALE Energy Audit....you'll be happy you did!

GCI Energy called me repeatedly until I finally arranged an appointment in my home to hear their solar presentation. The presentation was impressive BUT then came the high pressure close. I was told I was a candidate for the "Neighborhood Pride Program" and if I didn't make a decision to buy at that instant they would not honor the price quoted. When I suggested that I would like to take time to think about it the sales person made my wife and I very uncomfortable. I am so glad I did not chose GCI Energy. I called a friend who is a solar consultant and met with another, more reasonable, knowledgeable, low pressure company. Ultimately I decided NOT to install solar panels on my house. I continue to receive calls from Galko / GCI telling me that they are prepared to lower their price. What an insult! Buyer Beware.

Galkos did good work, but the 'follow-up' phone calls border harassment. "Gene" calls 3-5x per week, and when you are polite and don't want to talk, he calls BACK five minutes later! ANNOYING ANNOYING ANNOYING ANNOYING. Get a freakin notepad, and cross off who you already called, then STOP calling people that tell you to stop calling! STOP CALLING GALKOS, STOP CALLING. YOU HAVE RUN THROOUGH ALL YOUR GOOD WILL AND ARE NOW AN ANNOYANCE Brian Simmons wrote: My wife and I got several window estimates from different companies ourself and we have to agree Galkos Construction was not the cheapest but what we found Galkos had the best warranty and a better product. Galkos also offers Anlin Windows not just Atrium. All of Anlin Windows and Doors do qualify for the energy tax rebate so we made to purchase. We have to admit the service was very good and we really love our windows. So if you are looking for good service and good products we would recommend Galkos to anyone look for new windows. We have found some negative reviews but more positives so we would have to say it probably goes with the saying you can't please everyone. Hope this helps thanks again Galkos. Brian Simmons.

A marketing person came to our home and could not answer simple technical questions. He also only provided a handwritten proposal and asked us to make a copy of it. When we asked for referrals of customers that had already had installations by them, we waited almost a week, and then were given one referral that had only had their system in for 2 months. We asked for a few more referrals of similar size systems they were proposing that were installed for longer than 2 months, and are still waiting for their reply - it has been three weeks. That is ok - we decided to put our money with another company and are extremely satisfied with their professionalism and integrity. Buyer beware with this company!!

I had one estimate that was decent for Solar last year. Hard sell for sure. Then they keep calling me saying the owner noticed only in my area that they made a huge mistake and can totally slash the last quote (which was in the ballpark anyway) I keep telling them I'm not ready for 6 months. They keep calling 2 times a month at least. I might have called them in 6 months but now I'm getting pissed with the hard sell. They need to keep notes on their calls when someone says I'm not ready to talk again about it until "x". I also don't like the fact they made "huge errors" in the original pricing. So if I had bought in to the original deal would they have given me a refund for the "huge errors"? I said just re-quote it but they want another visit. I don't want to sit through 2 hours of sales pitch again, just re-quote the job and email it to me. But no.... they need to come out again. I'm not up for that. So in other words the original quote was way off base but you can trust us ? If this is a sales tactic it is a bad one, it makes me feel like you guys are incompetent. If it is the truth, just pull my quote and re-quote it and send me an email. Then we both don't waste our valuable time. What stops me from going Solar is I don't trust any of these companies.

Romarin wrote: Galkos has no lifetime warranty. The manufacturer has the warranty. Anyone can get the same guarantee using a different company as long as they buy the same manufacturers windows. Besides, nobodies guarantee is good past the day they file for bankruptcy anyway. I laugh when I see a lifetime warranty, is it bonded and insured? Of course not. I'm sure Galkos has many happy customers. I am sure they all have one thing in common, they never got more than one bid and never wanted another bid to see how they were royally reamed. If you can buy a dozen eggs at the market for a dollar and thirty cents and another store charges three dollars is it criminal? No, but it should be. I have had my Galkos windows, sliding door and texcote for more than 6 years. I have never called the manufacturer when I had an issue, Only Galkos. I have had them out to service my windows, repair the texcote and repair my sliding glass door. I am very pleased with the customer service. They may be slighlty more expensive, but when you work in customer service (as I do) you appreciate being able to call and someone responding quickly to your needs. Galkos can use me as a reference any time.
