You know how good you have it. At least half of the contract book is just for maintenance. The pay scale has had the same dollar spread since the beginning, why now has it become an issue? Every job you describe(but your own), you make seem like it is absolutely nothing. The Electroguy knows what he is talking about. Work somewhere like that and you would be begging for your job back. Give it a rest! You should know your facts before you make noise. You'll be a lot quiter then.

And whom do you suppose is right beside the groupleader when something goes to crap? The shift EST. The shift est has what the group leader has plus mat line. Both share the same equipment, and issues. Both are under paid. There's no need to dwell on this. Next week we'll have a good idea where we're headed.

I don't know why you idiots feel you know so much about our jobs. You never did them so who do you think you are kidding? I suppose when the power went out you saw what we all the electricians and mechanics did? NOT. You were safe and sound in the PARKING LOT

We all need to wake the hell up and look at the big picture, not worry about how much more money I can get. We are running out of marbles and they (the higher ups) are raising the price of mat because they do not want the customers to know that we cannot supply them. So they are trying to chase them off by raising the price of the products we make. We need to use this forum to try to help us not bash one another, we need to figure out how we can get in touch with the owners and let them know how the ceo,s are running us into the ground. If anyone has any idea how to get in touch with the owners please pass it on, everyone needs to try to write them and try to save all of our jobs.

This is one of the first posts I've seen here in a long time that sounded like a union at work. We should be here to help each other and watch each others backs. It's been a while. It seems production's reactions have been to keep crafts in their (LOW PAY) place. You, MAKE GREAT SENSE

Did you notice who was in the flash suits in the sub the evening of the power outage? Two SHIFT MEN. Do you know why they were in flash suits? Ask the squirrel. An industrial electrician and mechanic job is a rate job, and for good reasons.

I worked daylight then went shift during a cut back. On daylight you had other electricians to back you up and help you make the tough decisions. On shift you're ALONE. I never felt pressure like I did on shift. When you think of all the equipment in the plant, boiler, waste treatment, subs, HVAC and the thousands of miles of wires that can fail it was a nitemare. AND YOU ARE ALONE. I allways felt there should be two electricians on shift. You production people should be ashamed for not backing the craft people. I allways thought we were like a family in the Huntingdon plant. When it comes to money you producton people are acting like assholes after a funeral. Back the craftsmen up. They earn every cent of their pay.

matrat is right-on! We need to be concerned now that we have what we need to work with. No marbles - no work! We need to stop fighting about more money when very soon we may not have a job. What can we do to get upper management to get off their asses and get us the marbles we need to keep running? Can they be sued for not doing their job that will be putting many or all of us out of work? Why can they not be help responsible for this? matrat wrote: We all need to wake the hell up and look at the big picture, not worry about how much more money I can get. My thing is when i work on the junk that we have in this plant is to fix it so it can make the best product that it can safely. NOW we have this issue with the marbles what is next.I hope you all heard that now that we settled the contract and aikens is comming up they are using the same threats that they did on us! If they don't settle for what they offer they will move the equipment to Huntingdon ha ha! Lets just stick together like family and friends that we are. Most of us spend as much time with our coworkers as we do our family.

Well now that Matline lost Adrian Lane (and probably all their custumers) to Owens Corning. I heard that Kyle Franks is taking his place. That should really work out, hell didn't even know he was in charge of "maintenance! If anyone thought that the Matline would help in keeping this plant running, there goes that theory!
