Anyone have any information on Pickwick Lodge. I know it closed several years ago and re-opened primarily as a restaurant, then was sold. Am told it re-opened recently. Would love any info anyone might have

My family and I have been going to Pickwick Lodge for over 25 years. Ms. Miller, the owner, has passed and is missed. Her and her wonderful family gave me some GREAT years among a beautiful backdrop. Thank you to the Miller family !!!!

My family and I have been going to Pickwick for decades. I was just in the area a week ago and see that they want (or tried) to make it into a conference and retreat center. The pool, shuffle board court and the once pretty white fences are all in disrepair. I even saw what was once one of the living room chairs outside in a pile of trash. It was very sad but I have nothing but good memories about the place we vacationed every August of my childhood. If anyone is interested in seeing some pics I took e-mail me at Babybabs77@aol.com

Nothing but good memories. My parents brought us there every other summer (alternating with the shore) in the 60s' and 70s'. The bon fires, playing shuffle board, hiking and exploring the streams, fishing in the pond, ringing the bell for meals as kids... it was charming place to stay as a family.

My Grandparents took me to The Pickwick Lodge in the summers through the 60's. They were all good times. I learned how to shoot a bow and arrow there.

My parents took my brother and I every summer (50s and 60s). I loved going "rock hopping" in the stream behind the main house. We took our kids when they were young. They are in their 30s now, but remember Pickwick with fondness. You've all brought back alot of wonderful memories.

miller family, was sold and is now the Crystal Brook. Still a beautiful place in the catskills.

I met my husband at Pickwick Lodge in 1969. My family and I would go up for a vacation and he worked as a dishwasher. I met him at the Thursday night weanie roast. We were married in 1976 and have been married for 33 years. It is very sad to see it in disrepair, but will always have very fond memories of our time there.

Retired gi:

My husband, John, does remember Sheldon Maben. He said he was a pleasure to work with.

Most of John's family still resides in Cairo. He graduated from St. Pat's in 1971.

Thanks for the congrats.

My parents met because of Pickwick Lodge.
My mom was a chambermaid there and my dad's mother vacationed there.
I have 1 picture from Pickwick, which is actually a postcard -- and my parents are in the photo, sitting on the yard, my dad playing his guitar.

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Capricorn

Today's New Moon urges you to get to grips with something that's been weighing on your conscience recently. Do something about it, dear Goats, preferably before Christmas Day. Think how much better you'll feel when you've finally faced up and taken some concrete action over it. You'll wonder why you waited so long before doing something about it.
