From your comments I'd say, you're the one trying to do the intimidating.

The same ones that have completely sold us out, and consigned ourselves and our posterity to perpetual debt? Gun control is not what I'm most concerned about so I have no real argument. As I've said, we have quite a few in our home so I wouldn't be in favor of having them taken. My brother in law says that there should be mandatory gun classes in school to teach gun safety and that started quite a debate. I see how it would be an opportunity to show children what a responsibility weapons are but kids (teens especially) are so hot headed and spontaneous it makes me nervous. Of course, we have drivers ed and a car has been a weapon since it's invention. Personally I feel that our right to bear arms is rooted in our history as a nation and shouldn't be messed with. However as technology advances this should be revisited every so often to make sure we're still doing the right thing.

Even fools know enough to not start something with armed people all around them. Which is of course why they always choose to pull their slaughters in NO GUN zones.

If you want to try it don't be afraid.LOL! Of course I know about these things. I have several close friends who are B\G\L. They, unlike you, took "no" as an answer and that allowed us to become friends. I do not just tolerate them, I accept them. We could probably be friends too if you'd back off and stop trying to hit on me. There are a lot of gay men around here who like "bottoms". You'd be a lot happier with one (or more) of them.

I've been to socialist countries and believe me Obama is not a socialist. You all are just playing into the rights fear politics. I don’t know what he is and don’t care at this point. We are the largest armed force in the world and quite capable of defending ourselves, thank you!

It's a slippery slope and other governments have done some ugly things that would just never go down well here. I would never say that someone doesn't have the right to own weapons (or even carry them in public) but I don't understand the opposition to regulations such as waiting periods and having to show ID. Do you really want just anyone to be able to buy a pistol at the local Gas and Go? That doesn't make you a little nervous? When I ask these questions people always assume that I'm for government mandated gun control which really isn't the case. I'm for getting answers to my questions without getting attacked. Thanks.

No I have no fears about the wrong type aquiring weapons, because they always do legally or illegally. We will always have criminals & tyrants in the human population - it is related to the sin in all of us. The only thing that laws, regs, or rules do is infringe on free men & women's rights. It does not inhibit the lawless what so ever. They will always get their weapons from one source or another. I am an ex federal officer who has never seen a law stop a criminal from doing what they do. What stops them is armed citizens, incarceration or the death penalty. Make the penalties harsher for all felonies, and remove all restrictions on keeping & bearing arms by all citizens. This means no restrictions what so ever, anywhere, anytime. Criminals will tell you the biggest fear they have is going up against an armed citizen. They do not fear the cops or our laws. I hope this helps.

When I ask these questions people always assume that I'm for government mandated gun control which really isn't the case. I'm for getting answers to my questions without getting attacked. Thanks. Until 1968 we could buy a firearm at any store that cared to sell them. Prior to 1968 and at the age of 12, I walked into a Sears and Roebuck and paid cash for a .22 LR rifle. If they had had pistols, I could have bought one then too. GCA1968 was a knee-jerk response to three unrelated murders that made lots of people feel bad. To counter that, the Congress passed a law to make them feel good; as if something real was being done to prevent assassination. In reality, all the GCA1968 did was inconvenience law-abiding people and make gun theft a more lucrative occupation. It isn't a "slippery-slope" we are worried about. It is the opening of floodgates that will drown our freedoms as one "do-nothing, feel-good law" is piled on top of another and another and another. And the criminals will laugh and laugh. They won't be any more effected than they are currently.
