Has any one google either 'fsc cigarettes', or 'fire safe cigarettes' and checked out the problems with these things all over the place? There's not a positive word about them, with the exception of what the "Coalition For Fire-Safe Cigarettes" says. It also seems shrouded in a lot of secrecy. Are the state governments looking into this thoroughly, or just buying what the Coalition for FSCigs says, and moving on... Among other troubles with them, these things (the FSCs) are aparently making countless people very sick, very fast - as in wildly more than the old kind (non-FSC). Is this going to end up being some Lawyer's dream come true, or, what, exactly, is really going on here? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you.

I personally spent over 20 years smoking before I gave them up. It sucked at first, but I couldn't be happier now that I have those disgusting things out of my life. Looking for an alternative like a fire safe cigarette is just an excuse to keep pumping that nasty shit into your body.

Good for you! I smoke and choose to still do so. Glad you chose not too. I bet you are fat aren't ya? Kinda grumpy sounds like also. I am glad that our govement keeps taking our freedoms away and you support that. WOW Simple solution wrote: <quoted text>How about fat people learn to live a healthier lifestyle? I'm glad you quit from over 20 years of smoking, but that's your personal choice, not the worlds. If you are going to regulate smoking, how about eating? No fast food joints, no donut shops, no candy...an addiction is an addiction whether it be nicotine, heroin, sugar, sex, anything...

5'11" 175. You call that fat? And no, I'm not talking about regulating anything.I'm talking about the irony of complaining about fire safe cigarettes being bad for you. WELL NO SHIT! All cigarettes are bad for you. If your gonna whine about something that has been proven to cause cancer being bad for you even though it's been repackaged in a "FIRE SAFE" way, then you have no real reason to complain at all. You guys are changing the topic to an entirely unrelated discussion of free choice.

It's like saying cigarettes are bad, but chewing tobacco is better because you don't have to light it. Duh, they both will give you cancer.

Get it, fatty?

Michelle from NE wrote: <quoted text> Try some American Spirits. They are additive free, and while still contain nicotine, are better than cigarettes containing additives. Yep. Hi Michelle from NE, For starters, I am 100% on your side in your debating with this mean-spirited, ignorant "Simple solution" poster/nazi. But Michelle, as far as your above quote goes, you MUST be talking about American Spirits WITHOUT the FSC poison in them... It seems like the whole govenmental sneaking of the FSC chemical into cigarettes is the most insidious hate-crime in current America. The whole "Fire-Safe" alibi really doesn't really fly either, since the new FSC cigaretts are far more of a fire hazard than the old kind - with the lit end constantly falling off and how they shower sparks, etc.. It seems like a scam to either force people to quit smoking; or kill them much more quickly than the old kind of cigarettes could have, should they refuse to quit. The anti's are not just Liars anymore. http://www.topix.com/forum/business/tobacco/T...

Mean spirited? I'm simply stating the fact. Tobacco is bad for you no matter how you package it. Don't try to make me out to look like some kind of holier then thou attitude person just because I choose not to smoke anymore. I fully support anybody's desire to smoke, it's a free country. Just don't going crying to anyone when you get lung cancer and need an oxygen tank to help you breathe until you final days, and can't enjoy life anymore. And don't forget about the ugly teeth, yellow fingers, bad breath, smelly home/car, and rapid aging either. I fully support anyones will or right to do so. Like I said, it's your downfall, not mine.

Apparently the "Topix" forum system doesn't let the actual link through, but if you scroll the short distance down on this: http://www.carolinacartons.com/selfcigs_008.h... , there's a petition on the right hand side to repeal fire safe cigarette laws. I think the actual link can be posted on other boards without any problems. I am very much in hope that this is helpful - good luck :)
