who is your daughter, my daughter was also asked to go on a ride with this man.

And presumably your daughter spotted him as a creep, as my daughter did.
Anyway being a creep is not a crime, and he's in jail now for what he did to the other girl. Seems to me that justice, as best we can expect, has been served. |
as i do agree that justice is somewhat being served, i cant seem to comprehend how you could place even the slightest ounce of blame to this child. a young developing mind is not capable of doing all of the right things, or may not even have the ability to do so. none of us know the whole story, nor do we know how the girl may have tried to stop this, or how the perp could have blocked her roads of escape. i thank god that your daughter was in a position to get out of that situation. your arguments would be very different if she had not been.

Waltbennett:
I didnt say that the parent has to make choices for the child i simply said that its the parents job to watch out for their children look for warning signs keep on top of what is going on in their lives MEANING " A 15 year old child is not able to comprehend adult sisuations"much less be held responsible for a "crime" that the child had no control over what you do not know is the truth behind the story so it is discrimination to voice your opinion in the manor that you did not to mention rude. Just because your daughter(s) were not harmed or hurt does not mean that they were smarter or anything it simply means they were lucky and blessed, and you know the sad part there are so many grown men out there that take pleasure in hurting children that it could happen to anyone. with all do respect if the circumstances were flipped and your daughter was in this position mr.henderson is right your arguments would be quite different. |

Well, let's keep this civil. I never said the young lady was to blame for anything. I said, she should have known better and probably did know better, and that was the thrill of it.
I suspect that if we lined up 1,000 15 year old girls and asked them: "Would it be a good idea or a bad idea to have alcohol alone in a field with a male, middle aged school bus driver?" that we would be batting around .995 on correct answers. I will say that both of my teenage daughters make decisions that I wish they had not made, but these are the experiences that make us who we are. What I do hope is that they will avoid big mistakes. No matter how you slice it, this young lady made a big mistake. Was she taken advantage of? Certainly. Did she put herself in that position, against her better judgment? I have to suspect that she did. That's all I'm saying, and as I said before, that is what I would say to my own daughter if she put herself in a position anything like that. If I am in any way hurting anybody's feelings, please keep in mind that all we are doing is exchanging views, not casting judgments. We all feel empathy for the young lady and her family. We all hope it never happens to us, although we know that it can. |

well your welcome to freedom of speech, lets just hope your childrens lives are never questioned in a sisuation such is this. its very much over and there is no reason to continue talking about it. This topic may get out of context if we continue this conversation being as though its really not any of your business, your simply commenting on the story you heard in the news you were not there and you do not know the girl or the family so personally i think you should mind your own business.
thank you |

I used to ride his bus-I was in elementary school when this happened-riding on his bus. it was weird, all I can remember of him is that he was a nice bus driver to us, he kept control of us, and he always said hello, goodbye, and such.
How about we just stop talking about this topic its been years let it die already. please

that guy was my 6th grade bus driver. I never understood why i always felt all weird around him. there were times when out of nowhere it would be the ende of the bus ride, i would be the last one left and i would just randomly think "am i going to make it home today, or..." it scared the crap out of me when i finally found out why our bus had suddenly started have substitute after sub, then i was talking, i think to another driver (late bus), and they gave me the skinny, and i almost screamed, i have no doubt that he had his eyes on me in at least some little way, because the way he looked at me and talked, and his whole...vibe was WRONG! i was only in SIXTH GRADE, and i have no doubt that i could have been in a lot worse trouble and danger if he had chosen me, so i was proably lucky, but i can't believe that there are some of you who have the nerve to say that there can be any blame on the girl(s?) he VICTIMIZED! i am taking law enforcment courses, and know the criminal proceedings for this, and i believe that things like this should be made first degree felonies so that they get at LEAST 10 years!!
in fact, i agree with one person's suggestion that pedophile freaks like this, who rob children emotionally, physically, and worse should be put to DEATH! |

she knew exactly what she was doing, liked it, continued doing it, and now that it was found out about-she cries rape. she likes alchohol and getting laid. so what? |

Raven. Get real. I can't even respond to that, you are sick. This topic needs to die before the police are involved again. It is harassment! For god’s sake 14/15 years old! Be happy it wasn’t you, or for that matter a child that your close to. At 14 years old you don’t enjoy sex with a 55 year old man, ITS RAPE! Get real. And I challenge all of you that have such a strong opinion about this topic to walk a mile in that girl’s shoes, none of you would be able to do it. Now let’s start thinking realistically before you start posting bogus comments. You’re more demented than he is for taking his side. If this topic does not die I will notify the police. I’ve had enough this happened four years ago, he is in jail for obvious reasons and justice is being served. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
