If the hospital had not been so poorly mismanaged (present administration included), the hospital would not be facing the possibility of closure. The case is the same all over Hugo, so why does it surprise everyone that the hospital is in the same shape as the city, fire department, police department, sherriff's office, ambulance authority, water department, and the school system here. For too long we have allowed the officials of Hugo and Choctaw County run rampant with no accountability for their actions. The people here are willing to let someone they know roll over them and rob them blind than let someone from the outside help them out.

Noticed in the paper that Hugo has begun repairing streets. Interesting that they begin in the "nice" part of town instead of the areas that have never even had a street paved. Drive around the SW part of town sometime... for crying out loud, this is 2009 not 1860.

Anyone seriously thinks anything is going to change? There will be a little bit of asphalt thrown down, everyone will pat themselves on their backs and pretty soon it'll all be back to normal, ignore, ignore, ignore until they can soak the people with another tax to take care of problems they've ingored.

Hy folks from there years ago, this is happening all over our country. From Washington D.C. nationally ,state, county and city affairs. the people have let their elected officials go hog wild with the mney and there has been no accountability upon the part of the elected officials we elect to official. Once there in official they just feed at the trough of yor tax dollars and feed the selected few with over paid contracts. Just go the Tulsa YTopix and see what the contractors have been doing there!! it is calle bribery of city officials. Is it possibly happening there in different departments?? It surely happened in Tulsa. And look at what has happened in D.C. at the national level-- no accountability there either. Now the rich have gotten richer and the working people are unemployed and more are going to be unemployed in the future. One fiasco after another. See you in the unemployment lines. GOD BLESS

Yes the tax passed. Too many fell for the line that the hospital would close without it. There was a good editorial in the newspaper just before the election against the tax. Right after the tax passed the hospital administrator told the newspaper to remove their rack at the hospital. Just like a little kid. Reminded me of a bully. Guess I wasn't the only one because after a week or two she changed her mind. Makes me wonder if she reacts that way to anyone who dares question her.

Since the doctor currently practices, it must
have been a non-issue. Former admin.
left, after firing "one" doctor. No one ever
thought, that to accuse the doctor, you must
accuse all technical and support staff...
CEO TO CLERK!

Besides, a minor...where were the parents!

No, the bigger question is, Was it EVER in danger of closing? I think the answer to that is also NO.
