Hudson teacher Dennis May Jr. found dead, charged with showing porn to a student

Why should this poor teacher be tried before convicted? I agree with all the healthy, intelligent comments posted; why question a 13 year veteran teacher over a 7th. grader? Those of you that said he probably was guilty and a pedophile are so off the mark. It is small trailer trash people like you that make this world just so wacko. The child probably got caught at home with porno films or doing some sexual something or other and decided to blame his teacher. Can you imagine what this poor teacher was going through with all the accusations and shame put upon him; justified or not. I did not know Dennis May, but my heart aches for him and his poor family. Everyone is so quick to judge others without ever looking at themselves. He allegedly showed a porn video to a 7th grader. And if you would read any of the other reports, this film was possibly going to be viewed by all the students, with the consent of the Hudson Middle School.

It was reported that after his computer was seized he confessed to detectives that he was guilty of what the boy accused him of.

You are a moron!!!! May was investigated and all the stories between the boy, his parents, and the school counselor were consistent. If you read all the accounts, May did not deny his actions.

Everything that I stated has been said in the news papers and confirmed by the police. While it was tragic that he killed himself, he was guilty and had confessed to the police.

I question the suicide of an innocent man. I would fight like hell to clear my name!! Showing this student something inappropriate was selfish. Killing yourself and traumatizing the entire school district is even more selfish. He could not have thought that much of his students to leave them with horrific memories. Keep in mind this student was a new born baby when he started his teaching career. He was not a rookie. So sad for all!

In this country, you are correct innocent before proven guilty. This is a very sad and disturbing story. A young boy is being bullied because he came forward with this information. The police were investigating, but Mr. May decided to take his own life. Reasonable people do not take their own life and leave their students behind to deal with the pain and confusion. If he cared so much for his "students"--why then would he take his own life?

Lastly, why don't we think something wasn't right? If my 7th grade child came home and told me a story to which he stated he felt uncomfortable with a teacher or far worse I would report that information to the school.

I can't belive a teacher, who took his own life and confessed to showing this boy pornography is being portrayed as the "victim."

This is so sad. I knew Mr. May, he was my Choir teacher for three years until I moved, I just heard about this today. I can't believe he would do this, he was such a nice guy. I don't know what to say. He was one of my favorite teachers.

Besides, they didn't even have any d@mn evidence! They couldn't find any tapes!

I've known Mr. May since I was in fourth grade and although I no longer live in Hudson I think it's sad that people like Hudson Mom choose to judge other people based on information that they hear from their neighbors gossip circle. First of all, in case you didn't know, and it appears that you didn't, the child did not come and tell his mom like you say, he confessed to a school counselor. Mr. May cared about all of his students like no other teacher and I would like to put you in his shoes for a minute. Imagine that your child confessed to an adult that you had showed him pornography simply because he was mad at you. You are then under extreme scrutinization by the authorities, you lose all respect of your friends, and the people who you have loved, and cared about for 13 years now all hate you. Just imagine that, and rethink your rash post on this subject that you really have no place commenting on.
-You were just tooled by a 16 year old boy who is going places in the world. You should probably get an education before attempting to seem smart.
