It's Official, Tommy Courtner is running for County Commissioner!!

He filed today to run for Commissioner...

I have had the pleasure of knowing Mr. Courtner for several years now and I consider him a good friend. I am glad to see that he has opted to take an active part in politics here in Caldwell County running for County Commissioner. There are those that may not like him and that is fine but there are plenty of people that support him and consider him a friend. I am sure that we have all made mistakes or regretted doing something in the past but we all jump the hurdles placed in front of us and move on with our lives. People are too quick to judge someone from things that they are alleged to have done in the past and not what they can do in the future. Don't judge a book by its cover it is what is inside that counts. He is a good family man and truly cares about what happens in this county. If you don't care for the candidates running for County Commissioner then get out and file and run for commissioner yourself if you think that you can make a difference for the citizens here in this county instead of criticizing those that have stood up to the challenge. I wish Mr. Courtner luck and I will be listening to what he and all the other candidates have to say before I cast my vote in November.

Tommy Courtner treats everyone equal and cares about the citizens of this county. You can check with the County to confirm this, and I know for sure thta Tommy fired and employee for being a racist, so if you are the one compalining get a life. I am supporting Tommy and I know he will take action againist anyone that takes these kind of negative shots. If this is true come out of your box and discuss these issues in the public. I'm sure Courtner has an attorney that would like to talk to you. Maybe Tommy's attorney needs to check with the topix and find out where this is coming from. I don't have a problem with Ben and Clay, but I DO think Tommy Courtner is a better pick for the citizens of Caldwell County. Tommy Courtner will be the next Caldwell County Commissioner. Caldwell County Citizens know and thats why you will see Courtner win in the end. By the way is Randy Church a Rep or a Demo this week?

Oh what a sad day it will be for Caldwell County if Courtner is elected! He puts on a good show for people. He is arrogant and alwasys has alterior motives for whatever he does, so that HE will benefit. He "says" that he is a christian, but no CHRISTIAN I knows acts and TALKS like he does!!

Sunny D you must be another one those lazy failures that Mr.Courtner fired. Get it real and shut up the negative and lets do waht is right for Caldwell County. Vote "YES" for Tommy Courtner.

Courtner should win the KKK voting bloc easily.

Courtner has an underlying ulterior motive. Ben Griffin reduces staff, and takes his job, now he runs against Ben but swears he has no ulterior motives? Don't think so.

Courtner's past is proof enough he's not the candidate for Caldwell County.

2) Why do you think the citizens in North Catawba have an Ambulance and a Paramedic? Tommy Courtner
3) Why do you think the citizens in Gamewell have an Ambulance and a Paramedic? Tommy Courtner

5) Patterson Fire was to be the next for a paramedic and now it's not happening - Why? Tommy Courtner is no longer there.

I can tell you with Courtner being gone the system is falling; FAST. We now use more body bags than ever because of lazy people. Ask any EMS employee and they will let you know. I for one think its great to break up a block of 3.We need people who can think for themselves . I will vote for Tommy and so will my family.The over 500 county people have not forgotton who tryed to take their raise away from them .Think about it

It is easy to jump on the blame train...and that is the problem too many people ar quick to jump the gun. Know the facts before you make comments. What has he done to you? I am glad to see him step up to the challenge....it shows that he wants to put a good foot forward and make a difference. I wish him and all the other candidates well and may the best man win.

I have never been employed by Caldwell County, it simply doesn't pay enough. Secondly, take a look at the reasons you are supporting/backing Tommy.

1) We have an Ambulance and a medic in Collettsville for political reasons. The 'men' who were building 'the Bluffs' in Collettsville wanted a medic stationed close, and they paid enough money to get it. This is a total waste of resources.
2) The distributed emergency services system that Tommy tried to push (10 years before its time) is coming. Every fire/rescue will have an ambulance, and there will not be a EMS base, except for admin staff. This is why high traffic areas like North Catawba have a truck.

5) Patterson fire is not getting an EMS unit because it's just like Collettsville. There is not enough calls in the district to justify the expenses required to house a unit there. Ben Griffin worked a deal this very week to station an EMS unit at Valmead Fire from 8am till 8pm 7 days a week at NO added COST to the tax payers! From Valmead, a truck can run to Patterson/ Yadkin Valley/...ie...'North', and service the City as well as Kings Creek. It's a much better location than Patterson.

6) Run times are no longer than before Tommy. A 3 min cool down time has been introduced due to the 'pitiful' failures who work for our EMS system. We do have some really good medics, but the majority just aren't top notch. Thus they need a cool down time to look at maps, get clothes on, and get their adrenaline slowed down. Compare their response times to Lenoir Fire if you are uptown sometime. It's simply pitiful!!

7) I'll not argue that Tommy is not a good medic. He is a darn good medic, one of the best our County has seen; but this does not make him a good candidate for Commissioner. He has an ulterior motive, and that's why he's running!!

8) Lenoir rescue needed to be closed down, just like the EMS bases. A distributed emergency services is coming... where a sheriff, EMS unit, fire, rescue will all be where they should be..... in the community!!

Please take a serious look at the underhanded and shotty deals Tommy did while in office, and still does. As far as a medic and person, Tommy is great; but politics, keep him out!!
