17-Oct-2009: 121 shut down both directions, due to wreck

Anyone have details on this. No story to be found anywhere. I hear A semi hit a VW, killing someone as they pulled out onto 121.

My friend Lance O., 46, was killed in this accident. He was driving southbound (towards HWY 75) on 121 and had a head on collision with the semi truck going the opposite direction. He may have fallen asleep at the wheel, causing him to slowy drift into the oncoming lane (this is according to witnesses). He was killed instantly. He was not drinking.
Lance was driving his beloved 1969 VW Bug that he meticulously restored to mint condition and maintained lovingly.
Lance was a good man who will be missed by his family and friends. He was a hard worker who never hesitated to help those around him. He was one of a kind.
I grew up with Lance and will never forget him as a friend and a brother.

John, sorry to hear about your friend. Any death by accident is terrible. You stated about what happened in the accident according to witnesses. Have you had the opportunity to speak to any of them?
I travel that road a lot and have seen numerous wrecks along that stretch. If you find out who was in the wrong please post that info.
